A great no-frills lap desk
At this price point, I knew not to expect a top-of-the-line lap desk. I just wanted something functional, comfortable, and big enough to use both a laptop and a notebook, and this guy delivered on all three things. It's the same width as some of the other brands' "XL" models (which are also more expensive) and can comfortably fit my 13" laptop and a notepad side-by-side. The (removable) cushion isn't anything fancy, but it is wide enough for my needs and does a good job evenly distributing weight. I tend to sit cross-legged when I do homework (old habit) and the cushion manages to keep the desk comfortable and stable even in such a weird position. There are no pencil slots/ cup holders/ wrist cushions/ whatever other frills lap desks can have. The surface (I have the black one) shows finger prints and dirt, but it also cleans easily. I've seen some reviews mention a bad smell when taken out of the plastic and I'll confirm that it does exist, but it also fades quickly and isn't horribly offensive. Basically, if you're looking for a simple, comfortable work surface at a great price, then I definitely recommend this desk.

Perfection!
I have a 17" laptop that 1: gets pretty warm on the bottom; and 2: has a sort of bar towards the back to tilt the laptop slightly. Between the heat output and the bar digging into my leg, I finally decided I needed give in and buy a lapdesk. After a lot of research, this seemed to fit the bill. (Unfortunately, when I received it was damaged from transport and I had to return. Amazon, of course, made it easy and the new one arrived in perfect condition... there is a reason that I prefer to order through Amazon!) At any rate, my replacement is pristine and I couldn't be happier with this item. It's large enough for my laptop with enough room (not a huge amount, but enough) for my mouse on the side. The lap desk itself, while large, is surprisingly light so it's comfortable on my lap and doesn't add a whole bunch of weight to my already heavy laptop. In fact, I can barely feel the weight of it on my lap alone. The bottom padding, which is easily removable, is a flat rectangle which I personally preferred to the 2-roll style of padding. The top is not as slick as I thought it might be and my laptop has tiny little rubber strips on the bottom so there's no sliding around on the lap desk. Definitely need to use a mousepad or I play a game of mouse chase! Alternatively, I just use the mouse on the cushion next to me. Either way is comfortable.Very pleased with this! I highly recommend if you looking for a larger than average surface.

Super lap desk!
This is my second one... the lap desk is great. Plenty of room. I use my old cushion on the new one for added height.

Dirt simple design; affordable.
I needed a lap-desk to work from home with comfortably to increase my working surface area. I live in a small apartment in southern California, and when the new shelter in place/work from home orders came out as part of the COVID-19 response, I found myself without adequate work space in my home office set-up. Instead of getting a larger desk, I just got this lap-desk to transfer my laptop to (or conversely my paperwork) so that I wouldn't have to entirely forgo one for the other. It's large enough to work with the removable pad (it's adhered with a simple rectangular Velcro strip pattern on the pad and board) comfortably on top of my chair arms, or with the pad on the couch. It's very very simply made - the "carved in" handle is the most complex thing about it - and it made from cheap (but durable) materials. Yes, it's cheap - but entirely functional. Great for kids, an impromptu meal tray, or working from. If I could have a wish, I'd want a pencil/pen slot engraved on the surface somewhere; but that's trivial. Great price. Functional. Sturdy. if I had to guess; when/if something is going to "fail" down the road, it'll be the velcro for the pad; but honestly, who cares.

Light-weight, durable, spacious design
My 17 inch laptop and mouse fit just fine. I like that the surface is flat, painted and glossy. I didn't want one with a paper veneer or vinyl wrapping that don't tend to last. The surface of this lap desk has no seams. My laptop has rubber feet and doesn't budge while on this lap desk even when the lap desk is tilted at a 45 degree angle! The detachable foam padding is comfortable enough. Not having a built-in mouse pad is a plus because the other lap desks I considered had a plastic bezel frame surrounding the mouse pad that seemed way too confining. The only very small issue I found is that my Logitech M305 wireless mouse won't track on its bare surface. That may be due to the completely uniform texture of the glossy surface. This was not really a problem for me as I had planned on using a small pad with built in wrist pad. This lap desk costs easily half the price of any of the others I almost purchased. I can recommend it without reservation.

WAY better than I thought it would be ...
Well, color me impressed. The design is simple but it really works. The size is wonderful -- big enough to handle my 13" MacBook Air very comfortably. I got this to use both in the living room when sitting on the sofa as well as in the bedroom when I put my feet up to relax before bedtime. I also use it for some of my crafts activities -- the size is big enough to handle my 12" x 18" craft mat (I make handcrafted greeting cards and use various sharp things in conjunction with that activity). I can also use my 12" paper cutter easily, so it's almost perfect.I say "almost" because, as others have noted, the surface is slick. My laptop is in a hardshell case that has rubber feet so that's not a problem, but the slick surface doesn't work that well with my crafty things. I ended up getting a set of 3 large "rubber bands" -- they were intended to be used on trash cans to hold the plastic trash bags from slipping down into the can. They were the perfect size and work great. Problem solved!Definitely worth the less-than thirteen dollars I paid for it -- a great bargain!
