Beautiful old-school cards
Not for beginners. The Majors are all spelled out in Italian and the pip cards are just that, no information to help a reading. However, the lovely etched-style artwork (rather than woodblock-printed style like the Marseille decks) was just what I wanted. If you’re new to Tarot I’d recommend getting the Centennial Smith-Waite deck first, as it’s the very best way to learn. Then when you feel conversant with the cards, come back and look at this again.I really wish Lo Scarabeo would make a mini/tinned version of this. It would be my perfect deck.

Always my favourite! Stunning
This deck has always been a firm favourite of mine. I'm more into the old, vintage and celestial artwork, as apposed to the more modern and vibrant drawings. These cards are truly stunning. I already had an older edition of these cards, which have always been my preferred deck to read with. Italy has always given us amazing tarot.

Great artwork with a feel of historical cards.
These are beautiful.I wanted some cards where Death is pictured as a skeleton rather than a man on a horse, so even though they are Italian I decided to buy them. They are the perfect size, the pattern on the back is lovely and each card is beautiful. There are numbers on them so can work out which card is which even if you don't read Italian and sometimes the Italian word is so similar to the English word that you can figure out what the card is without referring to a book. There is a booklet giving a brief idea of what each card means but there is a misprint. The Magician card is listed as The Fool.So there are two Fools on the list which would confuse a beginner.I know a lot of people always refer to a book when using Tarot cards and don't memorise the meanings, so these cards are sufficiently clearly numbered for using that way.The pictures on them make these cards seem ancient and I like that. They say Tarot originated in Italy so even if them not being in English is confusing, they are worth having as a reminder of the origins of this form of divination.

Beautiful, but not good if you like reversed cards
These cards are very beautiful, but I decided to buy them because I was reading a book about tarot. This book used very similar cards as examples, but the pictures of the cards in the book had numbers on them which clearly showed which way up they go. However, many cards in this deck have reversed numbering on the lower half, making them completely symmetrical. The book I am reading gives meanings for every card in both orientations, but the symmetry of many cards in this deck makes that impossible. I have drawn faint lines on the bottom of the symmetrical cards so that I can tell which way up they are supposed to go, but it's not exactly ideal.
