Definitely a great experience for the price
After some digging and [we'll call it] research on Bias lighting/reactive LED options, I decided to give this set a shot. The reviews are overall pretty solid, and the handful of YouTube videos were helpful. What I likeFor price point, these lights 100% do the trick. I was looking for a set that were going to react to what is being seen on the TV. This camera approach was something I hadn't seen before, and it works pretty well! Not to mention, they're pretty bright (for being up against a dark green wall).I liked having everything I needed included in the box (minus a tape measure, but let's be honest... you should have a tape measure by now).As of now, I can say that the app is working just fine so far, no issue. I love the ability to turn them on/off over your wifi, these are "smart" anyway.Honestly, it works!Overall, I dont regret this purchase at all. The backlighting is definitely a cool addition to our viewing experiences, and I plan trying another set for the upstairs TV too. What needs improvedI have nothing to compare these to at this time, so the following may be due to quality at this price, I'm not sure; The colors the LEDs are putting out are sometimes random. The camera relays the colors its seeing from 5 pivot points from the calibration, but sometimes it projects a color that's not prominent on the screen. For example, if there was a shot of a beach, half blue sky half beach, and there is a red beach umbrella somewhere in the shot, the camera might throw a good bit of red out since that's what its seeing. I wonder if there is a way in the preferences to just have the colors closer to the outside edges to be displayed more than other, not prominent colors.Along the same lines, I'm not a fan of how the lights project white when the screen goes dark/black. I feel like, under the display match setting, they should dim/fade out!The adhesive on the LED strips themselves are pretty good, but the corners pop off due to the cables (there is coiled wiring at the 90* angles, which is pretty smart but they pull on the adhered strip). HOWEVER, this kit did include some additional 3M "clips", that provided extra support, so that definitely makes up for the strips themselves. The USB cable from the camera is slightly short. if it was maybe an extra 6 inches, it would have been perfect. Since this goes to the converter box, which also needs to attach to the end of the LED strip, it would have been ideal to have a little wiggle room (for the larger TVs). I made it work, thanks to those additional clips to keep it all attached. There is the SLIGHTEST lag of color change from screen to lights, but I think that's normal considering you're utilizing a camera/converter combo... aka, theres a lot going on in this setup, so minor delay may be expected. If anyone has some suggestions on ways to improve the above items, let me know! I'm still learning myselfIf you want to give bias lighting a chance, I recommend this set. There are a ton of other options that I havent even looking into yet (continuous backlighting of same color, timers, other settings/environments).If you're on the fence, tries these out.

Good with acceptable caveats. Amazing customer support!
Likes:- brightness is good- app is easy to use, and connects easily to WiFi- able to connect to Google assistant- adhesive is strong- can be used for 85" TV with some workaroundsDislikes:- power cable is short (2m) I had to cut it to extend with my own extra cable to have the cable hidden behind the wall and plug into tv console- camera doesn't detect onscreen green color most of the timeSummary- I'm keeping mine as it adds a nice luxury look to my TV.- if the power cable provided was longer 3-5m) it would have gotten 1 more starEdit : Two months after purchaseThe led light strips got torn, and one side of the screen's lights stopped working. I reached out to Govee via email, and they offered a full refund after showing them the evidence of the problem set. I'm so amazed by their customer support that I repurchased another set. Because of this, I'm changing my review from 4 stars to 5 stars!Great job Govee!

Perfect teenage solution - with some guesses on installation see full review
I chose these for my teenage son's room based on the many reviews I read (both Amazon and non-Amazon). Among a few other things, it was important to me they changed color to match the screen. Considering these lights met the list of desirable features, (brightness, length of strip, independently controlled LEDs, smart--works with Alexa, etc.) the price point is good and fit within the budget. I do wish they attached via HDMI/USB vs. the camera and DC power, but I think it is those sacrifices that make them more affordable than the multi hundred dollar alternatives.Installing them required a bit more patience and information than the instructions provided. It was not clear if it mattered in which direction they were to be installed (clockwise, or counter clockwise). We watched a few videos and reviews and determined we would install them clockwise (while facing the front of the TV, reaching around the sides and back to adhere them to the back edge). Also, we purchased the strip long enough to fit a 55-70" in TV--it was the only purchase option available at the time (my son's TV might be a 36"). You should know, the strip is not a single strip of lights; it is three strips connected with short, flexible cable in two places. I can see where this is helpful when installing on a larger TV (you apply one strip from bottom to top, the second strip from top left to top right, and the third strip from top right to bottom right. (The flexible cables allow you to make the 90 degree corners without having to bend or loop the strip.) However, this added to my confusion because my son's TV was much smaller than the total length of all the strips. It appears the strip may be cutable (that would have been ideal in our case), but I did not see anywhere in the instructions where that was acceptable. I did search Q&A and read "NO, DO NOT CUT) but so as not potentially ruin the lights and waste $75, we did NOT cut. (I'd still like to know the answer to this question, for sure).Instead, I attached the beginning of the strip to the bottom right at the bottom of the TV and went left, and then up along the left side (while facing and working from the front of the TV), until I ran out of TV. I loosely coiled the remainder of the first strip and secured it behind the TV. I took the start of the second strip and adhered it to the top of the TV and went right, along the back of the top, again, until I ran out of TV. Same as before, I coiled the remaining length of the strip and secured it in the top corner behind the TV, then I did the same with the third strip, coiling the remainder and securing it behind the TV at the bottom right. Whether this is the proper or ideal installation is still beyond me, but it works as intended and my son loves it. After calibration, it seems to function and look like what we expected. The calibration: hmmm tried and tried for 30-45 minutes (could not load, could not load, could not load) Wifi was on, blutooth was on, all functioning and connected, but "could not load" in order to complete calibration...As a last stitch effort, I unplugged all the components from power and each other (the box) and plugged back in. First try, everything connected and calibration successful (I wish I had given up and tried that much sooner). All in all: Happy 4/5 stars - happy with the product, happy with the price, happy with the end result. NOT happy with the clunky installation (which could easily be remedied with clearer, more through instructions and perhaps an FAQ in the instructions.)
