I’m delighted with this stylish, contemporary kitchen roll holder. It looks smart in my star of the art kitchen :). The simple mechanism makes tearing off the desired amount with your other hand, or arm if your hand is wet, quick and easy.It clearly states in the description the size of roll that fits it: Suitable for standard height rolls only - up to 24 cm (9½ inches). SO, if it does fit it’s your fault!!!!! Don’t moan about it in a review!

Who knew a kitchen roll holder could be a game changer, but this one is. I can put my elbow on the top to push it down and hold the roll in place whilst I tear a piece off... it's great! My old one would usually get messy depending on what I'm cooking, then I'd have to wipe it down when I was finished. Now my hands don't contaminate anything else as they're not coming into direct contact with the raw chicken, beef etc that I've been handling. I got mine in the sale which was even better. My only criticism is when I bought a bulk pack of kitchen roll, the rolls were taller and thicker than the standard so the top wouldn't fit back on and I therefore had to return to my old holder. My solution... I won't buy the bigger rolls again. However, perhaps Joseph Joseph could make a simple adaptation to their design to take the taller thicker rolls. Surely it's not rocket science?

This looks good, is sturdy and makes tearing kitchen roll easy. However only works on regular sized rolls not useful for taller/jumbo rolls so would have loved greater storage capacity. Matches other products in kitchen and was good price as bought on offer.

Was a bit dubious buying this based on some of the mixed reviews. Plus was worried it would not fit the majority of kitchen rolls as some reviews said big ones wouldn't fit. Been using this two weeks now and all my worries were completely unfounded I'm pleased to say. The design is ingenious yet so simple. You press down the top and it holds the roll completely sturdy so you can tear off a page no trouble - genius. Also somehow the design keeps the roll nice and taut unlike the previous one I had which kept loosening up every roll. This one keeps it all taut and tidy so is perfect. In terms of bigger rolls not fitting, that's poppycock. All rolls fit this except the very tall rolls - like the xxl ones, which will be too tall i imagine (though not tried one yet). But vast majority of rolls are normal height so will fit this perfectly. So don't be put off by that worry - unless you prefer the very tall xxl kitchen rolls in which case this will be too small for you.

This looks great in my kitchen and makes it easier to tear off a sheet of kitchen roll. Make sure it's not the extra big rolls though or else the top won't screw on.

This is hands down the worst kitchen product I’ve ever bought. Joseph Joseph usually makes clever, well-designed products, but this is a total disaster.The holder does NOT fit standard UK kitchen rolls. I bought it for Regina XXL Absorb – one of the most common and widely available rolls in supermarkets – and it simply doesn’t fit. The roll sits awkwardly on top, constantly jams, and makes the whole thing completely unusable.The description is totally misleading. Nowhere does it warn you that it won’t take popular larger rolls. What’s the point of a kitchen roll holder that can’t hold kitchen roll? It’s literally not fit for purpose.Save yourself the money and the headache – this is a gimmick product that fails at the one thing it’s supposed to do. In use it appears as chrome with the chrome cap and base trim. One of my concerns as I wanted a subtle chrome finish appearance.It easily fits the supermarket large kitchen roll (15cm diameter 23cm height approx).The bottom of the base grips the worktop so no movement. The black top of the base is cleverly dished slightly so that the outer edge of the roll is always gripped by the none-slip surface and doesn’t unwind - no need for additional external guide.To pull one sheet simply press the lightly sprung top to grip the whole roll and stop spinning.The top screws on/off easily, seconds to change a roll.It is light but robust and is overall an excellent design practically and in appearance. Fits well with out new kitchen refurb.I would strongly recommend this product.
