Why didn’t I buy this case sooner?
I’ve never purchased a Defender series Otterbox. My previous case was a Commuter Series Otterbox. I was skeptical at first due to the added size added to the phone especially on an Xs Max. But, I went for it. It arrived on time and I was very pleased with the packaging. Let me say I am very impressed with the quality and the fit of the case on the phone. It feels much better on your hand and very secure. You’ve purchased a $1000 plus phone, why cheap out on the case? I went with Dress Blues/ Chinchilla case. It looks great and beats the standard black case. If you’re on the fence about getting this case, just get it you won’t regret it. I should of bought this case sooner.

iPhone 10x camera broken while the Otterbox case is on
I bought this case on the pre-launch. I trusted Otterbox to a point that I refused to activate my brand new iPhone 10x until I received the Otterbox case. I’ve been using it for the past few months now. I dropped my phone last week and picked it up to see the iPhone camera is cracked. Poor design, marketing hype of a product that doesn’t live up to its expectations. I called customer service and they reported that the warranty covers the case and not the phone, big disappointment. The Otterbox customer service rep had no idea how to look up Amazon.com orders and disconnected the phone while on hold. This was the first Otterbox case I purchased and I won’t buy Otterbox again. Poor quality, lacks durability, useless warranty, and incompetent customer service.

Best xs max case for full phone protection.
Otterbox never disappoints, I’ve used their cases on all of my iPhones and they have yet again gained my trust with this new xs max case. This case has everything you need for someone who is afraid of potential shattering their new iPhone. Offers raised lips around all the important parts such as both cameras and edge to edge with the new curved screen. For the first time, this defended series doesn’t have a built in screen protector which I think is a great feature. My old defender for my 6s was so smudge and scratched and I had to replace the whole case rather than just the screen portion. I’m currently using TETHYS tempered glass which goes edge to edge and both the case and glass protector do not interfere with each other. Excellent case for someone who is afraid of the ridiculous cost to replace these new screen because I could literally throw this thing across a parking lot and it would come out unharmed.

Challenging mute button, costs some signal strength
The case was easy to disassemble and reassemble with the iPhone XsMAX. Good fit although the mute switch is not centered in the case housing making this operation difficult with large fingers and trimmed fingernails. Charges wirelessly, accepts screen protector without interference. UPDATED: I am returning. When the case is installed cannot receive carrier LTE signal. Bummer! really liked the case....

Amazing for my Service Dog training
Pro:1. Most Durable case ever! Trust me when I say this. It is extremely durable. I have a service dog specifically trained for hearing work. I am severely hearing impaired and sometimes he likes to give it a few chews before giving me the phone. He is a chewer and this held up amazingly well. He has already damaged my previous pink case made by apple. This was the most durable case I've found after reading many reviews. The other option was the Pelican, which is sleeker but less durable.2. Bulk isn't as bad as you think. I've paid an arm and a leg for the first-gen Otterbox case defender series back in the iphone 2. I hated that thing. It was massive and clucky. The material wasn't really rubber. It was hard to open. You name it. I was really hesitant to order this because of my first experience. Trust me when I say this, the current edition is MUCH improved. Of course, they've had a lot of time. I have the iphone xs max.3. The holder is incredible! And you can change the clip angle. It is perfect for someone like me who have to keep my phone close due to hearing issues. I clip it on my backpack, crossbody, pants, dress, you name it. It works just about everywhere. It is amazingly versatile and it is easy to take on and off. Best holster ever!Con:1. Instructions: It did not come with good install instructions. I was a bit annoyed that I had to spend 10 min looking it up on youtube. This really isn't a deal-breaker but it annoyed me.2. Charging port is very receded. This isn't easy to change if you want to have that kind of protection everywhere. I am not sure how it would charge wireless.3. It is not sleek but still extremely functional despite the thickness.Overall I would rate this 9/10! Great job to the design team. Solid product!

Great case
Always liked the durability of otter boxes but I hated a few things about them. Firstly I hated the stupid plastic screen protectors, the hole in the back showing the apple logo, and the stickyness of the rubber that made it hard to put in/out of your pocket. Not to mention it caught lint like crazy. This new otter box case (at least the camo one) has fixed those issues. The rubber doesn’t catch lint, the hole in the back is gone and so is the stupid plastic screen protector. Love this case! Even works with wireless charging. If your someone that likes pop sockets this case (the camo one) will accept it because the backing is smooth. This case is just as bulky as the other otter box’s before it but for some reason it feels a little slimmer and stream lined. Maybe because of the upgrades.I’m a cop and I need my phone protected from all the elements and this case does the trick. The two negatives are this1) $70 is a little high. Should be more like $50. Still worth it though2) the hard plastic belt holster is not very durable and cracks easily. Not enough to prevent using it but just enough to be annoying.

It simply works
The background - i hate big bulky cases, but sometimes they are the best option - so if you have to buy one, what should you buy. First i read at least 10 comparison reviews before choosing the first case... and the first case i bought was a Lifeproof model... and it fits really well, relatively small... almost perfect, but it had a problem. In hands free mode absolutely no one could hear me. It worked great in non hands free mode, but unfortunately i often use the iphone in hands free mode. So, despite the bulk i got the Otterbox and despite the size (almost twice as deep) and despite the compomises (no inbuilt screen protector and the mic and speaker vents at the bottem are open).... it basically works. Ive dropped the phone on several occasions, no damage and despite the lack of screen protection, the ridge around the screen has so for protected it and yes i have dropped it face down. Finally, i also have the Apple leather case, that too is great and i still use it along with the Otterbox, but most of the time its in the Otterbox. The Otterbox case, the Lifeproof case and the Apple leather case are really well made, but for protection without any audio compromise its the Otterbox that gets my vote. Please note the Otterbox isnt a fully waterproof case, the Lifeproof is, however the Iphone does have a good level of waterproofness built in, so for most people, in most situations the Otterbox would be the way to go... unless your a lifegard / fisherman / or diver.

Durable and tough, nice colour and design
This is my second otterbox case, my previous one looking worse for wear but still protecting my old phone after 3.5 years.I just dropped my new phone down wooden stairs with tile at the bottom. I had the holster on so two tiny masks on the corners but the marks wiped off the rubber case. So sturdy and protective. My previous case had a screen protector built in which over time didn’t look good or work so well. This case has no screen protector so worth getting a glass protector to go with it.

Good case
Really nice cover that actually protects the phone and it’s nice looking as well. The screen is well protected around the corners.

Love the his Otterbox case. Lighter colour makes it easy to locate phone when rummaging through handbag. I recommended.
