I think the (larger sized) globe is terrific
Excellent product. Despite purchasing the larger sized globe, I still switched to smaller bead-headed map pins to save space in areas we traveled extensively. Colors look terribly dark in the box but are very nice when seen in actual light. Pins take a bit of patience to insert through the cardboard which backs up the cork exterior, but slow, steady pressure does the trick. Yes, there seems to be a plastic ring inside the equator which poses a problem sticking a pin in places like Singapore (as another rater mentioned) but i managed. Nice size, nice quality, and a great idea for those who cherish their travels.

Great gift!
I actually ordered this for my son-in-law to give my daughter for Christmas. She is a nurse who works for a travel clinic and is inspired to travel all over the world. This globe will track her adventures! LOVE it!

Small but cute
This is a cute little globe. It's small, but still decently sized. Do yourself a favor and buy pins with the smallest heads you can find- the giant tacks provided are much too big for this little globe. (I purchased the Yongshida 0.16" Diameter Small Head Map Tacks Mixed Color Pack of 300 available on Amazon, they are perfect.)My complaints: (1) You have to push REALLY, REALLY HARD to get the tacks to go in; (2) as others have mentioned, the plastic strip around the equator is cheap looking; (3) should be priced about $20 lower. Still, I like it and I'm happy with the purchase.I've included a picture with a few tacks and a delicious beverage for scale.

Great globe
We used this for my mom's birthday party. We marked out all the places she'd been. So many people commented on how cool it was. I'd recommend it. You definitely need more pins than what it comes with.

Great gift, not sturdy
This is a great gift for the traveler in your life, however the gift arrived dented. It is no longer in stock and I am unable to replace it. We are now currently trying to figure out how to get something through the small hole at the top that can then push the debt out.

The box is open and the global itself is damaged. It’s embarrassing for me to gift this to my friend!

Overly expensive for just an OK product!
The idea is cool but the quality of the product is just too low to justify the price. The colors are faded and the product is just flimsy overall. Great gift idea for a traveler but not worth more than $5-10.

Regalato ad una mia amica che ne è rimasta davvero contenta! Fa una bella figura a vedersi ed è molto originale, meglio comprare a parte altri spilli siccome ne sono compresi pochi, io li ho presi con il pallino oro e stanno benissimo insieme. Consiglio!

This is a great gift idea for travellers. The item arrived as expected, though in hindsight this is a pretty high price for what the item is. That said, it's a Christmas gift for the people who 'have everything' and I know they will be really pleased. This item arrived quickly.
