I love this book so much, because it easy to understand, it have examples for step by step easy practice to start with gouache. It gets straight to the point, lightweight and full with lots of important information about gouache! The illustrations are large and explain in a simple way what he want to teach. I recommend this book for beginners and artists too.❤❤❤

Needing a change from watercolor painting, I decided to change to gouache, I ordered several books on the subject, and found Jeremy Ford;s book, The art of Gouache incredible. I have learned so much about gouache medium, which will enable me to move fearlessly into this medium, revives my self confidence, and I am using this book as my manual. The book is easy to read, but thorough. I especially like the demonstrations of different style painting. Although I learned that I paint in what he calls "illustrative style, I plan to try the others taught in the book. The breakdown of color mixing taught was revealing is educational. with information for using watercolor and acrylic mixing as well. I highly recommend The Art of Gouache and other mediums. l. Good info and process guidance

This is an excellent, informative book on the subject of gouache painting. Unfortunately, the format does not work on a Kindle device.I wish Amazon would reolace my book with a version formatted in the conventional Kindle rwading format.It is very annoying and time consuming to read this on my Fire Tablet. The pages do not fit, the text is too small and I had to constantly adjust page size and move to various areas of the page to read. I won't be buying anymore books formatted in this way. I am sure the hard copy versions of this book are wonderful, but the Kindle version is inconvenient and annoying!I should have got the paperback version. I hate the print replica format of the Kindle e-Book version.The 5 stars are for the content. I would give the print replica format minus 50 stars!

Materials section could be more specific including paper sizes and brush types and sizes. You’ll find yourself buying brushes in later sections that could have been discussed in the materials section.
