It's very nice to not have to refill my dog's water every day but you still have to clean this once a week. To do so you have to make a mess un hooking the hose, unscrewing the metal shield, wiping all the parts inside with soap and water, rinsing, reassembling, and reinstalling. Be careful, because the shield is sharp and will cut you, like it did myself. It's still handy though.

Does it work? Meh.. I took mine apart and installed it into another Little giant bowl that was mountable and also tougher (heavier gauge plastic). I have 3 large dogs, Great Dane big ;0) and they need water all day while I am work. This item is ok, however I ended up just harvesting the guts that I needed to make something better for my pups. All and all I am happy with it, but be warned the bowl is not that big, and could become a chew toy quickly, and it wouldnt last a minute if that happened.Plus the price with shipping wasnt worth it to me to buy again. I personally think you could build it for much cheaper with some swamp cooler parts and buying a better bowl to start with.

Shipped with some sort of paper washer that will get waterlogged, deterorate, and leak. Best to replace it with a rubber one. Also some thread tape on the adapter stops leaks.See pictures.

I use one of these in my chicken coop and one in my outdoor dog pen. They work great. Everybody has clean, fresh water and I have less to worry about

I shopped for an automatic water pan for my dogs and read many mixed reviews for similar products. This one works well. The hose is long enough to connect to high faucet and comes with an adapter to connect the hose to the pan. Disassembly is required for thorough cleaning. Dogs like it too.

It was very easy to clean, easy to remove not very sturdy for big dogs. I live in Texas and I must have water at all times for my dogs!!! I had the tendency to leak at the connector to the tub. Tried plumbers tape and plumbers putty. Maybe put more durable hose inlet on the tub. The plastic just does not work well

We bought one of these 13 years ago and finally have to replace it. We have two large dogs and hard water, but this waterer has held up. At one point had to "adjust" the connection which had began to leak but an ordinary hose clamp was the remedy. The bowl has been outside on the patio in the afternoon sun and never cracked. Periodically we do need to disconnect it and clean out algae, but it cleans up fine. We highly recommend this product. It has served us well. We are ordering our second one with confidence.

The hose that comes with the waterer will NOT seat on the rubber washer no how much plumbers tape you put on it 😵‍💫! The lip closest to the hose will not let it contact the rubber washer enough to make a good seal! I found a hose with no lip and it sealed perfectly with NO leaks 🤠 The supplied hose is defective!
