Fun, Quick, and Easy to Learn
I've played the blue Railroad Ink game several times and always enjoy it, so I thought it would be good to complete my collection with Blazing Red. This is one of the best prices I've found on it, so I was excited to take the jump.Component Quality: HighThe dry erase markers and coating on the board are some of the best quality of similar games that I've seen. They consistently write well and don't dry out as quickly as others. Erasing the boards is really easy with the attached eraser. The dice are also much larger than the "standard" d6, which makes them readable for several people playing the game.Fun of Play: HighThis is an example of a roll and write game, where you roll some dice and then write something on your bard based on what gets rolled. This is one of my favorite roll and writes because I think the path-building is a lot of fun. The bonus dice add a great element that makes the game even more replayable as well because you can only use one of the two modules in the box, and the game is great even without either of them, which I recommend the first time playing.Integration of Theme and Gameplay: HighRailroad Ink is surprisingly thematic, given how easy-to-learn and small the game is. Because the entire game is drawing out a transit map based on the options listed on the dice, you're building out your railroad and road map, though the restrictions are very different from what I imagine they're like in real life.Overall: Highly RecommendedThis is a great game for newer and more experienced gamers alike! It's a great entry to the roll-and-write genre of games, and there's a surprising amount of complexity and replayability for how basic the game is.

Easy to learn roll & write. Small box, big value.
Short review: Worth a try and fun with many types of gamers.Similar game: Silver and GoldPlayers: up to 6How to play (short): There are 7 rounds of play. At the beginning of each round one player rolls the four route dice. All players then draw the routes shown on the dice somewhere on their player board (either connected to an earlier route, or to a station on edge of board). The train route must connect to a train and the road route to the road. There are 6 specialty routes listed at the top of the player board. Players may choose to use one of these per round for a total of three times. Game ends after 7 rounds.Scoring: Player with most points wins. Points are scored based on the number of stations connected, the longest road route and train route each player has, and the number of routes drawn in the center of the board.Expansion: There are lava dice and meteor dice that add a twist to the game, but you can discover these fun elements on your own.Final: I have played this game with a bunch of different people and all have enjoyed it. The game is relatively quick, but prone to paralysis analysis (over thinking) with some players. I like it and will keep it in my collection for a while... I think you will too.

Really really fun!
RR Ink is a great, quick game with good amount of strategy and a ton of fun. My 8 year old loves it and we've been having some great times marking up the boards with the included markers. Would recommend. I love that it plays 6 people, too!

Two Versions is one too many
It's a great game and to play the "base game" with just the four white railroad and highway dice either version, red or blue, will work. The only difference between them is the additional four "expansion" dice. Red comes with two lava dice and two meteor dice. Blue comes with two river dice and two lake dice.Either version is worth the $20 price tag for a brilliant 1-6 player roll and write game. I suspect most will find $40 dollars to be too steep to get both just to have both sets of expansion dice though.

Oh Boy, Do I Love This Game!!
Whether it's this version or the blue version of this game, I love it. So easy! So fun! I CANNOT wait for the Railroad Ink Challenge games to come out with all the expansion dice and the big box to hold them all! This game makes me want to collect everything they release.Drawing the little roads and rails on the dry-erase board is so pleasing. I thought at first that the different versions (Red and Blue) were unnecessary. If you have one, why would you want the other? But they actually have significant differences. And both are fun in their own right! In each, you draw roads and rails identically, but in Blue you're adding rivers and lakes, and in Red you're adding craters and lava flows. This is a filler game that feels bigger. You could start with game on game night and three hours later realize you're STILL playing it!Completely satisfied with this purchase! Five stars and a train engine toot-toot!!

Good game for beginners and experts alike
I started getting into the board game hobby start of 2023. This was always a game I wanted to get because it’s light weight but there is a ton of replayability. I have played this with experts who have been playing for 5+ years and with friend who has never played a roll and write ( they had monopoly experience) and they all enjoyed the game. Highly recommend as a gift for someone or for someone who is looking for a game in this category.

Very fun
I bought this for my husband who loves puzzle type games and trains. This is a lot of fun. It can be played alone or with several other people. It’s small and easy to bring on trips. Good quality and beautiful art style. It’s a little hard to learn at first though.
