This solved a problem for me. The standard windshield mount placed the unit too far away when mounted low enough to not obstruct my view. The reach of the arm if this unit, when extended, allowed me to mount this low enough that the unit sits at the edge of the dash and just about 1/4 inch above it. This is great cinsidering the extreme rake of the windshield on my 2006 Corvette.This unit attached very firmly to my windshield. My Garmin shakes not at all on normal pavement and VERY little on bumpy roads. Unlike another reviewer's experience, I find the force required to telescope the arm is more than sufficient to allow use of the touch screen of my Garmin Drive Smart 55 without disturbing the pisition of the unit. That is not to say that such required force is in any way excessive.I found that the unit did not stick to my dash. In fact, the 3M disc would not stick to the dash even after a thourough cleaning with rubbing alcohol. I doi not blame the unit or the 3M disc for this. I suspect there is just so much Armor-all on it that nothing will stick to it. Ever.Overall, I am very pleased with the unit. If, as tends to be the case with suction cup mounts, this one eventually loses its adhesive ability, I will not hesitate to buy it again. (As long as that does not happen to soon)

Works great so far. Needed this to replace my failing dash mount that originally came with the GPS device. The ball joint snaps into place pretty snugly and the adjustment knob for the arm height is easily accessible and useable compared to some other mounts on the market. The fact that I extend and retract the screen without needing to adjust a secondary knob is also great! Not sure how long that would last, but at the moment of writing this review, it currently works really well and does not retract even on bumpy drives.

I would have given it 5 stars but it drifts a little on the ball. The mount its self holds very sturdy but the GPS does tend to drift or tilt down after a little while. It holds ok and is easy enough to tilt back up but it is a solid 4 star due to the drift.

I bought this GPS Dash Mount, 'APPS2Car Dashboard Windshield Sticky Suction Mount' for use with my Garmin Dezl 770 Series GPS. The ball on this new mount fits into the back of my Garmin Dezl 770 just as well as the ball on the mount that came with the Garmin 770. This mount is sticky and also uses a vacuum, so it shouldn't have any trouble sticking and staying on the windshield of my F250. The arm on the mount slides in and out and moves up and down. The arm cannot be "locked" in place when it slides in or out but it does have detents that click as you move the arm in or out horizontally. Hopefully, the arm will not extend or retract on its own. The arm extends slightly more than 1.5 inches when extended. You can lock the arm in place vertically (with a small knob located on the joint) to keep it from moving vertically though. The vertical lock seems to work well. The mount also comes with a sticky (3M "sticky") base plate that you can apply to your car dash if it is relatively smooth. The mount itself then sticks to the smooth side of this base, which will allow you to place the mount anywhere on your dash. My F250 doesn't have a smooth area (only plastic ridges) where I want to place my GPS, so it will have to stick directly to the windshield and I won't need this base at this time. The base plate itself is very sticky, but I have no idea how long it will last in sunlight/heat on a car dash. If your car dash is leather or vinyl, the "sticky" base could (and probably will) mar this area when removed. The mount comes with mounting instructions and alcohol wipes too. All in all, this seems to be a good mount, and except for the question of the arm extending in or out by itself, it should be a sturdy mount for my Garmin Dezl 770 GPS.

This attachment works very well and was used as a replacement after the original one failed after being used for a few years. Suction cup holds very well. Easy to set up and adjust. Small fit and doesn't block visibility when not in use.

Worked fairly good in the colder months. But when summer hit wear I live the adhesive melted to my windshield. Spent a good 20 minutes using "GOO GONE" remover to get the adhesive remnants completely off. Now I just use a cheaper mount for my NUVI 57.

GPS Dash Mount, APPS2Car Dashboard Windshield Sticky Suction Mount was/is for my Garmin Drive Smart 55 GPS that just replaced an older Tomtom unit. I needed a mount for a lower position on my windshield or dash, not wanting to be shot for having something like an air freshener obscuring my vision. I liked the ability to mount it low and closer to the dash and the pivot and extension gives just the right angle for using it. Be warned, this is no one handed removable item. When they advertise "Sticky" suction mount, they do not meant the suction itself, but the mount BEFORE suction. The downside to most suction mounts is temperature change, especially when it gets really cold. This baby will pull the ball mount off the back of your Drive Smart before it budges from the window with the suction removed. My old mount I would just remove the whole thing and store it out of sight when parking. With this one, I remove the GPS from the mount, holding the mount with one hand and the gps socket with the other as I pull on the gps. I then loosen the pivot, retract the ball mount and swivel it down so my windshield shades can be used. On my last trip home I thought I'd remove the whole thing and store it with my gps, HA. There is a vacuum release on the suction unit and even a tab on the soft sticky part. Nothing is "released" you have to force an escape for the device stuck to your windshield, using both hands and most of the vocabulary learned in 4 years with the navy, you pull and swear and finally if the planets and moon are properly aligned it will be freed. I kid you not, never, never in jest place that sticky mount on any part of any ones body. Doing so you would anticipate following up with a 911 call. Just keep the bag it came in and put it back. Love the mount, am wary of the sticky pad, but am leaving it as is, in case I have to drive to Alaska in the winter, I know it won't fall off.

I needed to get my Garmin Smartdrive in the right position but the dash on the van was angled and I had issues with needing to see the clock and passenger air bag warning light. This GPS mount was the solution by allowing me to locate the base in a spot that gave me clear view of the displays behind it as well as moving the Garmin touch screen within reach of my fingers while still on the steering wheel. Nicely constructed and easy to install and very very flexible as to GPS positions. Love it!!

This gps mount is very easy to install , the mounting plate stuck really well to the dash , easy to set up , adjust and remove if need be, love that the arm extends it save reaching,

Used this in my RV. I was hesitant at first because I was afraid that the vibration inside the motorhome would make the holder loose suction but it didn't. After 12,000 miles, it's still holding strong. Another feature I like is how easy it is to unhook the GPS from the stand. I can easily unhook it and pass it to my wife so she can find our next destination.

I've had a lot of mounts but this one significantly stands out. The first day i made mistake to mount it on the leather on the dashboard and it had such strong suction that it left a mark. After that I placed it on the window and it's there approximately 8 months now and still in the same spot when I mount it the first time. Neither it ever fell off nor it slipped.Definitely recommended !

Two of these mounts have been in use for several months with a large (7 inch, Garmin 760).There was no place on the rearward facing dash to mount the gps with Garmin’s mount.They have functioned well, holding the gps securely.The underside of the ‘suction cup’ comes coated with a sticky, glue-like substance which may become an issue if this dries out, hardens and leaks air.At that point this ‘glue’ would be removed.
