Gibson Elite Couture Bands Round Reactive Glaze Stoneware Dinnerware Set, Service for Four (16pcs), Red and Cream

I purchased a set of these in 2018, and I couldn't be happier with how they have held up! Another set became necessary, and my purchase in 2022 was very similar to the older set. Still durable and sturdy, and the color scheme matched the old. The only slight complaint I have is that some of the red glazed banding, on close inspection, was a tad sloppier that the 2018 set. Very difficult to notice however. Overall, a well made and attractive looking set of dishes.

So far the set is lasting without issue. It is style that is not for everyone.The set is thick and sturdy. There is a small discoloration on one of the bowls but nothing significant. Other than that, the glazing is fine.Dinner plates are great.Mugs - as with most sets, they never go bad. Which is good but I still have so many from various sets I have purchased in the past that I am doubting they will ever get worn out.The soup bowls are large enough to for having soup or chili as a meal. I agree it is too big for a morning breakfast cereal use but a bowl that size will not make a having a large bowl of soup. No bowl will do both well and I got what I needed.

**EDIT AFTER 4 YEARS: I still love these dishes! They have held up amazingly in our rental lake house for 4 seasons! Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. There are a couple chips but not many AND the surface of the dishes show NO scratches or wear/tear.Original Review: I absolutely love the set now that I have it. It is less red and more orange than I expected but that is OK with me. I bought three sets and none of them were broken in shipping. I am over-the-top excited to have these. As a sidenote, I am not super picky to the minor imperfections as these have pottery look and all pottery has variations. The trim around the glasses do stop weirdly at the handle but again, after seeing the reviews, I knew what I was getting.

Love them and ordered two sets. One package had multiple broken dishes and was promptly refunded by Amazon. They froze the item so I couldn't reorder and still needed the dishes. I looked online and found Big Blue Box W Store was selling the same dishes online for half the price I paid at Amazon at that time. Was not happy, but that's my fault for not doing the proper research. The dishes are good. Color is just a bit darker in real life versus the picture. Wash in dishwasher daily and they have held up well. No chips, cracks, scratches, etc.

I red some of the bad reviews on these and I guess I got lucky. Were the colors spot on with the picture. Nope but photographs are not always the same. I love these. They're heavy. They're masculine. They're large. I could not be happier. I rated durability a 3 because I have not had them long enough to know. But look, they aren't plastic. You can't throw them into the sink. Take care with them and they should last a long time.

Love these dishes. Haven't had any issues that it seems like others have. The glazing is not uniform, and that's what I was hoping for, something with a nice handmade look. Bowls are nice and big, dinner dishes are a nice size and the salad plates are perfect. We like big mugs, so the ones that came with the dishes don't get much use, but are nice anyway. The lip on the dishes is perfect as well. Not too tall so it gets in the way of cutting food, but not so short that food runs off the dish. I may buy another set just as a backup if anything breaks.

I had been looking a long time for the something to replace the plain set I had. What I really like is they are light-weight stoneware; unlike the set I had which could be used to strengthen biceps with. I like the three band of colors, the red is not bright rather more burgundy with brown, and taupe the colors are blend, there are some imperfections which is normal for stoneware being fired from the kiln and glazed which I like even more (looks authentically homemade) while still offering a smooth feel

Perfect product. The price was $44 in 2020. Price is almost double in 2022. BS.

I really like these dishes. They are hand glazed and that makes each one a little different. They are thick heavy and are quite large. The bowls are more for Salad or a meal in a bowl like a Stew or Chilli. They are very wide and hold way too much to use for cornflakes or oatmeal. One thing to expect these dishes work out to about $5.00 or $6.00 each. They are hand done glazed and made with very good materials. So it seems where they saved the money was by not having a quality control inspection as about 80% of the dishes have a flaw of some kind or another. I bought two sets and (8 settings) and I may be able to peace together 2 sets without small imperfects such a a little hard dust bump, or a small spot where the edge touched something before being fired leaving a little light spot, all the way up to one mug that has a deformed rim that I only noticed when I tried to take a drink from it left handed. So if you like, or can handle the imperfections / charm of hand painted glaze and can live with minor imperfections that you will usually only notice if you are looking for them I would recommend these. Just remember there $5.00 plates not $20.00
