Easy to use and picture quality good
Having looked at RCA (red, yellow, white) connector to HDMI, I found that a lot of the reviews were slightly negative regarding picture quality. Also they required a USB power source. When I changed my search terminology, I came across this device which connects directly to the Wii and comes supplied with a HDMI cable. I plugged it in and it worked straight away and the picture quality was better than I expected

Away Wii go.
Does exactly what it's meant to do. New TV doesn't have the right connection. This works perfectly, 2 seconds to swap old for new and away Wii go. ;)

Worked like magic on a Samsung Q65B!
Playing Super Mario is something that I did a lot. Then changed tv around 10 years ago and bought an adapter to hdmi for the smart TV. Then bought Samsung Q65B and the wii won't work, but then found this adapter and hdmi cable for £8, set up, plugged into hdmi 1 port and wii came up as if by magic. Thank you for this wonderful device and now my grandchildren will be able to get to know Mario!

So simple to install! Can now use the Wii on our new TV
Since the new TVs no longer have a port for the RCA cables (red, yellow & white) we had to find a solution so we could continue to play with our Wii by using an HDMI connection. Originally I had purchased a device where you plugged the RCA cables into it. Unfortunately this also needed power provided by a USB cable (the USB cable supplied was so short too) and there no HDMI cable included! That was promptly returned once I found this HDMI Adapter by Portholic, for basically the same price. We simply plugged Portholic's HDMI adapter into the back of the Wii (no need to use the old Wii's RCA cables). Switched on our new Sony LED Bravia TV and hey presto, ready for action! I am certain the picture is a much better quality than our old Samsung TV that was nearly 10 years old so very happy. No one can expect the graphics to be as good as the games around now as the Wii technology was back in 2006. Would definitely recommend.

Just plug and play
This little adapter is sturdy, styled like the wii so doesn't look out of place, and just plugs straight into the video connector. Easy.Even though the tv was changed last year, the wii still sat underneath doing nothing, but unable to connect to the tv because the tv doesn't have the old composite connection, but this little HDMI converter means we can still play the wii. Just plugs into the back and uses a HDMI cable. The grandkids had their first go and loved it so much that their parents just went and got a second hand wii. There's life in the old dog yet.

Great little device. Good value for money.
Does as described. Very pleased. Resurrected my old Wii. This was easy to install & worked out of the box. Bought to replace the old components/scart lead with hdmi as I have no TV’s with these old connectors now. I have this connected to a 55” Samsung UHD TV. As the description clearly says, this is not an upscaler so at the native 480p Wii output the picture quality is inevitably somewhat grainy on a 55” screen. It is however quite acceptable snd both audio and video worked fine. At the price this is well worth it if you are happy to accept the lower picture quality. If you want full 1080p or higher quality you’ll need to spend a 3 figure amount for an upscaler or buying a latest model Wii.
