Works well once you work out the correct kernel module that supports it!
Just a quick review to help people who have purchased or are planning on purchasing this item. I received no documentation with it and had to do some research to try and get it working. This was the only Raspberry Pi audio board on Amazon that would ship to my country so I had not choice but to choose this model.I can tell you that it is working well and the sound is good. I setup KODI as an airplay receiver and I use it to stream music from my iphone. I have the Raspberry Pi plus this audio board connected using phono cables to an old stereo amplifier connected to two speakers. I was using a headphone cable that broke out into two phono cables, but I was getting a bad humming sound due to the interference which is why I went for this board. To get this working with Linux on the raspberry pi, you must edit the “/boot/config.txt” file.Edit out line below to disable the onboard audio#dtparam=audio=onAnd add the following line to load support for the audio boarddtoverlay=iqaudio-dacplusYou must then check that Kodi uses the audio board below (It will be the default).“aplay -l” Will display the below when the kernel module loads correctly.**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****card 0: IQaudIODAC [IQaudIODAC], device 0: IQaudIO DAC HiFi pcm512x-hifi-0 [] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0For those interested, the “hifiberry-dac” module does load, but there is no sound. I was expecting the “iqaudio-dacplus” module to work as it is used on a similar board with the same PCM5122 chip, but it does not load at all. It really was trial and error getting a kernel module to load that supported this board which is why I am sharing my experience above.4 stars due to no documentation.Good luck!
