So glad I found this food!
Update July 19. Over a month now and she has been symptom free. She now gets occasional treats that I make sure are barley free and low fiber. She also gets a sweet potato fry every day. Her stools are very firm but not dry and she has not had trouble passing them. If your pup has similar symptoms I recommend giving this food a try!My dog has inflammatory bowel disease.. She is 11 years old and I adopted her last year.Right away I noticed she had some issues with her digestion. Around 4 am every 2 to 3 days I would hear very loud gurgling. On those days she would refuse to eat breakfast and sometimes developed pretty bad bloody diarrhea. Eventually she would eat and feel better. I discovered the sooner I could get her to eat the sooner she would feel better. I reached out to her previous foster mom and she told me she fed all her dogs a low fat prescription diet from Royal Canine. (Why?!)For a couple of months I tried various home solutions. I fed her small frequent meals including just before bed and slowly transitioned her to a different low fat diet as I did not have access to a prescription food.My vet did blood work and X-rays and treated her for Giardia. Still no improvement. Probiotics didn’t help. Antacid therapy didn’t work. They put her on an ID prescription diet made from corn starch and soy. I was not able to transition her all the way on to it because it made her very sick. They gave me a prescription for the Royal Canine she ate at the foster home. There followed months of eating this food but still having frequent episodes, usually every few days. I could usually get her eating early by giving her chicken or lean cooked ground beef, then she was fine. Some days she would refuse even those goodies.I decided to have an ultrasound done and she was diagnosed with IBD. The vet suggested a nutritionist as there didn’t appear to be a prescription diet that helped.I decided to take a very close look at the foods I had tried to see if there was a common ingredient that she may not tolerate well. I noticed Barley in all these foods. It was a start.I began checking labels of low fat dog foods. Lean was the 1st I found that did not contain Barley. My only concern was the very low fiber content. I decided to try it. I did a very slow transition over a couple of weeks. She was completely transitioned 2 weeks ago and has not had an episode. At this point I am very happy but holding my breath. She eats only this food and even gets it as treats and rewards.I don’t know if it is lack of Barley or low fiber that seems to be working, but it is working. If your pup has similar tummy troubles, I highly recommend trying this food.

So thankful to have found this!
Finally, healthful dog food that my dog likes! I have wasted so much money on refrigerated dog food, which she leaves to go bad. But with this, she will even accept the pieces as training treats. This so much less expensive than buying refrigerated dog food and throwing it away. Finding anything she would like would be an achievement--I can hardly believe that the one food she'll eat is also low fat!

GREAT DOG FOOD
Bests dry dog food, great for dogs that require high protein and low fat

Good quality low fat kibble
Great for dogs needing lower fat. I mix with 1 percent fat ground turkey to be more palatable. I wish the carb percentage was lower, however. With Annamaet made a high protein, low fat and low carb kibble. That is what dogs with Cushing syndrome need, and there’s nothing out there. With so many dogs having that, I think it would sell very well.

Great food!!
This has been great for our dog. I received a message that it’s no longer available? What is comparable? I hate to change what he’s used to as he has pancreatitis.

Good Product but check for damaged bag
This product is good for our dogs, but the last shipment came with a tear in the bag. Amazon would not take a return, but offered a refund. With spending this much, quality checks should ensure the product isn’t damaged.

It’s worth it
Oh how I wish those wasn’t so expensive but yes, it’s worth it. I have one big old guy and a small old girl. Both are slowing down a lot so they’re harder to exercise. I’ve always struggled with shedding too. This food has made two shedding seasons almost not noticeable. It pains me to pay the price but the dog kids are so much healthier. They love the taste and the ingredients are ideal.

QUALITY PRODUCT that our dog loves!
Our little dog has a history of Pancreatitis and allergies, so it has been a challenge to find a food over the years to keep her healthy and happy, too. We spent many years following the Vet's recommendation for Hill's ID food in a can, since most the convenient kibble out there has more harmful things in them, than good. She never was great on Hill's but it kept her from having any more attacks and we could keep her weight in check, too. I just never liked all the unhealthy ingredients in it and it's crazy expensive. Then Hill's changed their formulas and made them so nasty, neither man nor beast would go near it! Turned out to be lucky for us, because then I found this wonderful LEAN dog food, with top notch ingredients, including all the things to help a dog that needs a low fat, high protein, NO garbage product! Our dog loves the flavor of this small kibble and she has been happy and healthy since the switch. Her tummy is way better with no gas problems and 'perfect' poop. The convenience of her getting this great food over cans of smelly canned food is nice for us, too. A win, win. Thanks for a quality pet food that hits all the right buttons!
