Great Looking and Functional Container
When first looking at the price of these containers I thought they were so expensive. I do love simplehuman trash cans however and was needing a container to keep dog food and birdseed in that I could put on the back porch and feel they would be critter proof. Those raccoons are pretty clever. When I got the containers they are so pretty I decided to just keep them handy in the kitchen. They take up very little space and are attractive enough to be inside. The wheels on the back make them easy to move and the scoop included inside is a extra bonus. They can easily be kept outside on my covered back porch if in the future I decide to move them because I do feel like they would be critter proof. They seal securely.simplehuman products last a long time so considering I do think they are well worth the cost.

Well Made, Stated Capacity is LESS in the Real World
These work very well. I bought two, one for dry cat food and another to hold pine pellets for the litter box. (The container keeps the pine smell inside instead of having it permeate my room for this.)I can say for a fact that I can FIT a 25-pound bag of Purina Cat Chow Complete in one of these, but to do so I sort of have to manipulate the bag to squeeze the bottom initially and then slide it down in. That bag mostly fills this. You definitely should keep the food IN THE BAG because on a microscopit level it will be stuck in the surface of the plastic otherwise and build up. Not good. Keeping it in the bag also saves you from ever having to clean the plastic interior bin.The latch is excellent, and these look nice. They were also pretty well packed. On the bonus end, these came in pretty large boxes and I was able to stack the two boxes, tape them together, cut entrances in the sides and so the cats can go from the bottom box up into the higher box, and cut various windows around so the cats can climb inside and play whack a mole with toys, trying to gram them through the cutouts. They love it.

Love it
This is a slam dunk.1. Simple Human is great quality. Seriously. My first SH garbage can from 12 years ago still looks and performs like new. It's nice to buy something once and know it will actually do what it's supposed to and last.2. The brushed silver container looks nice near the bakers rack and is much larger than the photo would imply. For size - think under the counter garbage can. Decent height and size.3. Love the cleverly designed scoop and lid space. You can't really see it in the photo, but the scoop fits into the lid with a magnet to hold it in place. There's no going back now - this is SO convenient and ingenious every other dog container vendor should incorporate it into their design.4. Realistically holds 28 pounds of food. The 32 not so much.5. The lid really does stay shut and the 2nd step is brilliant - pull up on handle and lock then the lid. To close, lid down, lock on, now handle down. No more opened food bins. Did I mention we have the big puppies that get into everything but this bin?6. The wheel in the back makes it really easy to move. Just lift up on the handle, it won't open, the lock stays put.7. Filling the bin is still a pain, but the transfer from dog food bag to this bin is really no different than the weight obstacle encountered doing this with any container. Bottom line, the convenience outweighs the 5 minute bag to bin food transfer. If my past experience with Simple Human is any indication, this is money spent wisely. Their quality is great with well thought out products that look like new and last a long time. Go for it.

Good product
This is the best looking, functional dog food bin we have ever had. Ours came with a small dent in the front but it's only noticeable at certain angles and we store our dog food in the pantry so that is not a deal breaker for me. The liner is smooth and strong, and easy to remove to wash (although it is awkward to wash in the kitchen sink - a spray nozzle is a must). The rubber seal keeps the food fresh. The scoop is easy to use and store in the top, and has marks for 1/2 cup and 1 cup. In my experience, the wheels do not work well - they are small and plastic and do not roll easily (it's more of a drag). If rolling is important for you, check that when you get it before you throw the packaging away. Hopefully they will improve that feature. It was a bit expensive for a dog food bin but worth the price for me (I purchased on an Amazon Prime Deal day). Overall I am happy with the purchase.

Great, but doesn't hold 40 pounds of food
Pros:- Lid seals good enough to keep food fresh for a while- They used a real magnet to hold the scoop in (this is an awesome idea)- It has an easily removable inner container that makes it easy to clean- It's shiny, which means it matches other shiny stuff in my kitchenCons:- The wheels bound up nearly instantly. Fortunately this isn't a huge deal for me since the thing doesn't move and if I do need to move it only holds...- It doesn't hold 40 pounds. Not even close. I buy 35lb bags of food and that doesn't fit. I understand that there is significant variance in the size, shape, density, and weight of individual pieces of kibble. But unless you are feeding your doggo those tiny science diet kibbles, don't expect to get 40lbs in this.- They used a real magnet to keep the scoop in. But "wait!" you say? Yes, this was also a pro. It's a con because it's actually a really f'n strong magnet. I like it. I approve of it. But I can definitely see how someone else might have a problem with it.Other Thoughts:- I thought the latch would be too complex for my puppy to figure out. He figured it out before I did.- It looks like my trash can, so it confuses that same puppy about what container to go to in order to vainly attempt to guilt me into feeding him.
