10" Pivoting Handle Stainless Steel Fireplace Stove Ash Scooper

I ordered the ash dragon the first time because we it was cheaper.What a mistake it was a piece of junk tin pop riveted together.Dust fell out of the seams everywhere so I sent it back.I ordered this one and glad I did it is well built and made out of stainless steel.It has welded seams no mess at all worth every penny.For those people that are still using shovels and making a dusty Dirty mess all over the place.Quit being cheap it's well worth.

$120?? For a stamped metal box? No wonder there are no reviews.The only other option is the Ash Dragon, at a relative bargain of $80. I'll scoop with a cheap shovel and go slow until someone comes up with an ash box for under $40. You can get an ash vacuum for less!

For years I've used a fireplace shovel and 5 gallon ash can to clean out my wood stove. Two problems with that: 1. Ash flies around, especially when hot, so ash coating on everything in the room. 2. The can is sold specifically as an ash can, but it's painted black so when hot coals are added the paint starts to emit a terrible, probably unhealthy, odor. I looked for stainless steel cans but couldn't find one that had a tight lid, but I stumbled upon this ash scoop. At first glance the price seems high but I'm confident it will last for a long time, so on average the annual price is probably going to be very low. The scoop fits perfectly into the side door of my Hearth Stone wood stove. I simply push it along the bottom until it hits the far side, tilt it back to allow the ashes/coals to slide away from the edge, pull it out and close the hinged door. Easy to take outside with the handle. Super easy, very effective, no ash flying around, and no burning paint smell. For me this has definitely been money well spent.

A metal box with a handle and a hinge for $129. There's a sucker born every minute. How stupid can some people get?
