This had a great price it was easy to install and took care of my problems

Works perfectly.
This was just what we needed for a 12 year old camper rv. It looks exactly like the old one. My husband was able to install it, easily, and it worked perfectly. The price was good, sometimes old stuff like this can be pricey, sometimes not so bad, and this seemed like a very good price. I am so glad that items for older campers are still available.

basic thermostat
It works as It was designed. It Is difficult to see where the red temperature Indicator Is that shows the actual temperature in the room. I never did like that the "off" Is to the right and "on" Is to the left.

Exact replacement... On/Off switch is tooo stiff.
Exactly like the one it is replacing. When I was attaching the internal wires, the terminal screw for the red wire, broke off when I began to turn it. Apparently it was either a defective screw, or cross threaded at assembly. Took screw from the old thermostat and it screwed in flawlessly. The oval mounting hole for adjusting the mounting of the thermostat was smaller that the diameter of the screw head of mounting hole. When it was hung, at the factory, the air gun just plows it in, and later to remove to use the same screw is a challenge. I opened the narrow width on the new one to accept the mounting screw, to save me a trip to the hardware store. Once mounted, it found it EXTREMELY difficult to turn on and off. Lever is very hard to move either direction. Hopefully, in time it will wear away the plastic inside. I use pliers now. The old one would not turn off.... is why I replaced. I am however, pleased with the thermostat. I wanted to stay with the same brand and type. Some refinements would be appreciated. Looking forward to trying it out. ln 98+ temp. is not the time to test.... I am sure it will function well.

Thermostat works but it's a different model (Dometic) - probably better.
I received a Dometic RV thermostat instead of the Atwood pictured in this description. I think it's the same thermostat but different packaging. Maybe, an improved version because the Atwood thermostat had an on/off switch that was a bear to turn on and off. I installed this today and the trailer furnace fired right up.I think this model is better than the Atwood even though I think they're the same manufacturer so don't be discouraged into not buying this model. It's cheap and it works.

Thermometer Broken out of the box!.
Thermometer was broken out of the box. The item was a return item marked as like new condition. The screws were missing also. The old style did not have a thermometer so not sure if this matters at all.

Old School RV Thermostat
I bought two. One to replace my ageing unit. And a spare because some of these "old school" systems are being replaced by fancy digital microchip and circuit board junk. Who knows when the manufacturers will decide that we don't need these any more!
