Longarmers' definitive text
I can't believe I didn't buy this book when it first came out. This is a very good guide for those who are beginning any longarm machine quilting business. It includes specific "how-to"'s about quilting a quilt with a longarm machine and tips on recordkeeping, marketing and managing a longarm quilting business. The tag-on title "...Hiring a Longarm Machine Quilter" is sort of an afterthought. The book is definitely targeted to longarm quilters - then there are periodic little sections "oh yes, and if you're hiring a longarm quilter, look for this". My only slam on this book is that it is getting a little long in the tooth in terms of how fast the longarm quilting industry is progressing technically; it needs to be updated within the next two years or it will be outdated.

doing amazing feathers is what compelled me to get a Gammill ...
Amazon tells me I bought this book 8 years and 1 day ago. This book is my go-to whenever I can't remember how to do something on my longarm. It will open automatically to the "how to load a quilt" section because at first that's what I needed. Every. Single. Time. I still refer to it. Honestly, if you are new to longarm quilting, this is a must have reference. I wish Linda would write another book. She's the authority on Gammill longarms. Seeing her on PBS years ago, doing amazing feathers is what compelled me to get a Gammill of my own.

A Must for Starting Out Longarm Quilters
This book was actually recommended to me by someone who already has a very successful longarm quilting business. She told me this a great book to have on hand. It is exactly what I needed. A reference book for using a longarm quilter, the tools I would need and how to load a quilt and setup pantographs for quilting. The book covers all you need to know about how to start your own quilting business and gives example worksheets. I have found it fantastic as I start my own journey into the machine quilting business. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Thorough explanation of using and setting up a Longarm Quilting machine
Well worth buying as an ebook. Not sure I would pay the price of the hardback. This book might suit someone who is thinking of getting a Longarm, but knows nothing about them. It will also suit a person setting up a business and there are lots of professional tips. Linda explains every with images of every aspect of Longarm work such as loading a quilt, using pantographs, types of batting and lots of tips etc,. There is a section on ruler work and free motion custom work, but whereas books of today would concentrate heavily on rulers and custom designingt this has pages and pages devoted to edge to edge pantograph work. As I don't like using pantos it was of no interest to me, but it's the most detailed book info on pantos I've seen. The book is a bit dated, but well worth the ebook price ans after longarming for two years still has useful tips and info. Rulers seem to have moved on since this book was written though. For anyone setting up a business she gives some advice she discovered the hard way.
