Not OEM. But great so far. Improved heating on my Cabrio dryer!
I installed this with all four new sensors on my WED7800X(2010 Whirlpool steam Cabrio dryer)After 10 loads so far, my dryer is working great and a dries LOT faster than before.Fairly easy to install. Really straight forward when you get to looking at everything. While not OEM, it was 1/4 the cost on this part alone. Order and receive your element and thermostats you want to replace, before taking your dryer apart. It's very easy to swap them right away and will make putting it back together A LOT easier. You may have a similar story: Sorry for the length. It was my personal adventure last week.Step one: Youtube. What am I doing? ok, got a good look at it after 30 minutes through three or four vids. Get out your power screwdriver and bolt driver bits. There are a lot of machine screws. Most all can be done with a small handheld power driver. Good time to buy that cheap Black and Decker on Amazon with a set of small hex head bolt bits right now since you're waiting for parts anyway and it's only $25 or less. You're still ahead of the $110 OEM heater element and now you have a good screwdriver. The SKIL ixo 4.0 volt is a little better, but it's $40.It was pretty obvious that my coil had blown after I got it all apart. The thin sheet between the coils that the ceramic mounts are on, had melted, warped, and cracked into a position that shorted it out. After spending $120 on an electrician to come out for 5 minutes, test the outlet, and to tell me that my dryer was broken, I decided to order all the parts to fix it. The dryer had reported a power issue from the wall, it wasn't..... Grr. 'Diagnosis mode'? Don't bother. It only took about an hour to get everything apart and cleaned up, it was a mess in there.Pop tabs, collar stays, bobby pins, coins, and oh my god the lint. Get out the shop vac and clean it all up, especially from the blower fan below. Take pics of where all the screws are you are going to remove, I just used my phone to make a video of the points where they go. Including the electrical clip positions. There were four main sensors below my drum. Two on this heating element cage and two on the blower (vacuum?) fan. All said it was about $85 to replace everything as of March 2019. I bought all four thermostat pieces. Thermal cut off, thermister, thermostat, and thermal fuse I think. No real idea what they specifically do, but folks online mostly all said it's not a terrible idea to replace everything since you have it all apart and thermal sensors get finicky when they are overheated or short. Snap and screw everything back together where they were. The belt on the drum was tricky to get on the tension roller. You may need to take the back off your dryer to get it on right. I managed to get it after looking at it for a minute. This one, easy to replace part saved me from buying another $1000 dryer this decade. So I'm pretty pleased with the product and myself. My wife was happy too. We have liked our Cabrio, and really happy to have it working again. There were some complaints about life on a small portion of the reviews. While I'd be bummed if it died, I'll update my review if so. Thanks for reading my ramble. Feel free to message if you need advice on the Cabrio Dryer Heating Element replacement.

Fits and works perfectly
The hard part is taking apart they dryer to the point of being able to install this. Once able to replace the broken heating coil, this part fit perfect and worked as expected. It is the second time over the years I have replaced this part, which is far better than buying a new dryer or spending hundreds on a repair tech. You can definitely do this yourself and save a ton of cash. Well worth it!

Good product for the price. Lasted 3.5 years with heavy use. I purchased another. 👍
I have a Whirlpool Duet Dryer. The set was purchased on or around 2009. I previously had to repair the circuit board after receiving an error code. This time no error code. I removed the panel below the dryer door and with power off at breaker, checked continuity on the dryer element. The test indicated a break in the element. I removed the element and sure enough, it was broken. The particular item was 8544771 stamped on the element. My local trusted repair store sold it for approximately $99. I prefer OEM, and I suspect it is slightly better, but at more than four times the cost I thought I'd take a shot at this one by Blue Stars. (Honestly, there are many times when I wish Amazon would let me filter out knock of or random brands as a whole but this one seemed more branded than others listed that are not OEM.)Upon arrival, it looks almost identical to the existing one. (See photos). I measure the coil element diameter. The diameter was ever so slightly smaller on the new one compared to the old one. And yes, I checked on the clean bare wire for comparison as well to double check. Additionally, the mounting plate was slightly thinner on the new one compared to the original. Overall, I noticed the weight was less on the new one as well. I installed the unit and it works great.I've been an Amazon customer since 1997. If this one fails at any point, I'll update the post so everyone can know how long it lasted. Please see photos. I'd buy it again.Purchased and installed in Dec of 2020, still going strong as of November of 2021 with regular use.Update March 25, 2022: Still going strong. Lots of use with family of four.Update March 29, 2024: Heating element died after heavy use for 3 1/2 years. Happy with the first one at the price and purchased another of the same.

A solid choice as OEM replacement
I ordered this after watching a few videos on YouTube to figure out why my Whirlpool Duet dryer wasn't putting out any heat and discovering a break in the old coil. It was about 1/5 the price of an OEM part, and appeared to be well-built and (knock on wood) so far it's performed flawlessly. Between this and the labor involved, I saved several hundred dollars over calling a repairman!

Inexpensive DIY repair.
Exact fit. Recommend removing the drum to install. Quicker in the long run. Working as expected after installation.
