UPDATE: I’ve had this for 7 months now and it’s still in perfect condition. Trash diving is a thing of the past. Buy it!I’ve had this can for a month now. For reference, I own a 120lb Cane Corso, a 95Lb German Shepherd, and a 100lb+ Great Dane puppy. With our old 13-gallon plastic trash can, our Cane Corso was able to easily nudge off the lid and create absolute CHAOS whenever we left home. I spent hours searching for a bigger trash can that looked good but also would keep him out of the trash, and let me tell you.. this one is PERFECT! Not only are the dogs unable to nudge off the whole top part(it’s “locked” in place and has to be manually unhinged with both hands to open), but the lid sits in a groove so that you have to use the foot pedal to open it. You’d have to have a Great Dane or Irish Wolfhound that is A) tall enough to reach inside and B) smart enough to press and hold the foot pedal while getting trash out. My trash-eater is neither of those things, so this can is perfect for us.The second thing that I was worried about is the dogs caving this thing in with their massive whip-like tails, and I’m SO surprised that they have whipped it several times now with no dings or dents! This can is light and easy for me (a 100lb woman) to lift and move with no trash in it, and I can at least nudge it around even when it’s full of heavy trash.Last thing to note: it looks so nice in our kitchen!! The in-laws were visiting when it first arrived and said they thought I paid way more than $65 (on sale). I would’ve paid $90 no question. The bag tucks in on the inside, so it looks so much sleeker than our old can with the ugly bag hanging out several inches. We use Hefty Extra Strong 33 gallon bags, and they fit very well with a little extra space to close easily around the trash when it’s time to take it out.TLDR: Dogs can’t get in it, not easily dented, looks great without taking up space, worth the cash. GET IT!! You’ll thank me later :)

This was one of the first purchases I made after I bought my first house. I love the stainless-steel look and this fit the bill just fine. I do find occasionally it is bigger than I need, but overall it is a great item. The step lever at the bottom is a lifesaver for when you have sticky or wet hands after washing dishes or putting a cake together.
