Our 1 - 2" Natural sea sponges are a key element to all hermit crab enclosures. They prevent drowning and provide humidity. They also contain Calcium that the crab will ingest over time to help strengthen their hard-outer exoskeleton shell that they shed. Our all natural sustainably harvested and ecologically friendly sponges are a great addition to any hermit crab enclosure. To use Place in your hermit’s water dish, it should be changed out for a clean dry sponge regularly to prevent containments. You can microwave the sponge for 10-15 seconds to sterilize.
