Strap 'Em up boys
I thought this was a stout price to pay for straps. I contemplated buying just towing straps to hang up my hammock, but I'm glad I didn't. These straps make it incredibly easy to hang up your hammock just the way you want to. They're sturdy. I've had probably around 450 lbs hold between the two straps. They do a great job and are relatively small to carry. (They fit inside my hammock pouch just fine)If you want to cover distances when you put up your hammock, like over creeks or something, these would definitely make that possible.

Not just for around trees - I did it my way ...
Our trees are WAY too far apart to set up a hammock. I originally purchased these thinking I could adapt an old hammock stand to make it into a current one - but the stand was too short. However, we have a long, straight branch coming off of a black walnut tree. I was able to loop these around the branch (doubled), and use the hangers to place both ends of the hammock. I love being able to use the S Hooks to easily remove and store the hammock (plus hang it easily). These were easy to use, and I was able to find a way for them to meet my needs.I wouldn't hesitate to use these for hanging a Hammock Chair from a tree branch - the S hooks are very adequate.A nice set of straps. Should they fail, I will send an update from my iPhone from the emergency room, but if you don't hear, you will know they are still holding well.(For those wondering - we are using these with Cape Cod Canvas Hammock 13000 by C. Alan. The short ends make it a perfect complement to hanging from a tree branch instead of from actual tree trunks.Edited - my granddaughter and I shared the hammock today, with acombined weight of 270 pounds with no issues! Straps held securely.

but they're wide and I'm happy with them
These straps work and aren't too heavy, but they do sag. When setting up your hammock, you might want to set it up higher than normal. Just play with it, and see what works for you. You might need to be a little creative to make them work, but they're wide and I'm happy with them. There not super difficult or annoying as maybe I'm making them sound, because I really am happy with this product, just know that if you set up the hammock at a normal-ish height you might find yourself on the ground, or close to it, in the morning. The good thing is they bounce back. I set up my hammock higher with these straps to prevent myself from sleeping on the ground, and after a little big the straps are at a normal height and it's much easier to get in and out of, but I left it there for a while and it was back to the height I set it up as. I see this as a good thing. Bottom line: they work, and are inexpensive, but at the same time they aren't too much more than some other straps like ENO that might be a little better/ less heavy/ less stretchy. ENO is expensive though so do your homework.

Finally got to use my hammock
I have had a big rope hammock that I bought in Mexico about a decade ago that I have really never gotten to use until I got these straps. I kept trying to figure out if I just needed ropes and carabiners and then I saw these straps and decided to give them a try. They were super easy to use and I couldn't be happier. Straps are long and the S hooks seem very sturdy. I weigh about 230 and sat in the hammock with kids and didn't feel like they were under too much stress. Wide straps also are a great idea as it didn't damage the bark on the trees at all. Even slept in the hammock one night and it was great.Wish I had bought them a decade ago!

Fairly Heavy Hardware
There is a good amount of stretch with these straps. Id say an additional 6 inches when sitting in a hammock with 200lbs of weight. I replaced the S hooks with caribiners. Stitching seems to be strong though. If you can sew, you can make some DIY straps for cheaper and have a much higher weigh limit. I made a seperate pair of straps and each strap can hold 4,000 lbs. and cost was the same with twice the amount of strap material. I would say the straps and the hardware have a 250 lb limit.

I have had these for 5 years, been left outside for 16 months straight.
These straps work great and are very durable outdoors. Ended up having this as an extra set which I left outside at a personal favorite hammock spot for about 16 months. I live in New England so we got snow during that period of time in which i left them on the trees. When I finally took them down and wiped the build up off of them you couldn't notice the difference between these and the ones that originally came with my hammock besides little traces of dirt on them.I still have them and they work great. this will be going on about 5 years of owning them.

NOT Good Enough
This is a revised review. I first reviewed them after only a short period of use. Now a year later the story has changed. I bought these straps to place permanently around a couple of Oak Trees in my back yard from which I wished to string a hammock. By using the straps I thought I could leave the straps in place and using the provided S hooks I could quickly hang the hammock and be ready to swing. That worked pretty well for about 9 months. A couple weeks ago I attempted to use my hammock and about the time I got comfortable one of the straps BROKE about 2" above the ring. I was dumped very hard on the ground. I was sore for a couple days but thank goodness I had no serious injury. If you are only going to use these for a weekend and then put them up until next time you might be OK with these. If your intention, like me, is to place them on the tree and leave them there you had definitely better keep looking. I WOULD NOT buy this again.
