Interesting conversation piece.
Got this for my 7 year old last Christmas. He loves weather and learning about storms. It held his interest for a little while. It really doesn't do much but give a little lightshow that simulates a lightning storm. It's more of a conversation piece, or something for him to watch while he's falling asleep. Probably really not worth the money, if you're looking for an educational toy.

MAY NOT HOLD INTEREST
I agree with the other reviewer, the lightning lab doesn't hold our grandson's interest, he loves Science and learning, but the lab doesn't offer much variety. It does make for a good conversation piece, mid-teens as well as adults pick it up too, give it a quick once over and they are finished with it as well.The children do learn some aspects of storms, it just wasn't what we were hoping for. Since it is made of plastic and a drop on a slate floor could do some serious damage, I gave it 4 stars for durability.I would not recommend this product.
