The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, Revised Edition (Star Wars)

I ordered several used books through Amazon and for the condition the book was described I was pleasantly surprised that it was in better shape than I expected. The series of these are great but the pages tend to fall out after a lot of use.

Good book.

The essential guides series where some of my favorites growing up. I love collecting them. I would just sit for hours slowly going through and reading all of the technical details. The creativity is endless. And the schematics and drawings are so fun. Love these books.

Not what I expected from a tech manual. I was hoping for pictures of the props, presented as analysis of the subject, with images I have not seen before. This was more, here's a few pictures that you can get from the internet.

The revised version of the Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology builds on the success of the original, adding in color 3D renderings of selected weapons and technologies, adding updated information from Episodes 1-3 and more recent novels. For Star Wars fans, there is a broad array of new general information to fill in where the previous version left off. Unfortunately, this update comes with less detailed schematics, typographical errors, and a feeling of adequacy in the place of the satisfaction that a Star Wars nerd/junkie/enthusiast would expect from such a publication. Recommended audience would be new gen SW fans and moderate fans that want to know more about the SW universe.

Great resource for those who are into Star Wars cosplay such as myself. Very thorough, good drawings, covers a lot of different types of weapons.

This is written for the more casual or younger fan. It includes some decent diagrams, and SOME good background info, but really misses the chance to create some good background detail. For example, any astute fan knows there are significant differences between the E-11 balusters used by the stormtroopers in the OT films, but this book doesn't mention that at all. The included drawing ONLY includes a dawning of the blaster as used in ROTJ. Similar situations exist for the DL-44 blaster... One of the most iconic weapons of the whole Star Wars saga. Yeah, it's super nerd detail, but that's who should benefit from a book like this.

The true EU.

This book is really great, lots of information on lots of different weapons and technologies. The pictures are really nice with the whole 3D aspect, an amazing book.

I play in a RP server in SWTOR. This guide will be my ultimate geek's guide to the tech in my roleplays! I'm going to be the most knowledgeable smuggler around! :)
