It sucks, it blows and no smell
It is doing exactly what I expected it to do. It moves a lot of air and so far the filter has removed all of the nasty plant and fertilizer aromas. The fan is a little tricky to mount because the housing hides the mounting holes. I first mounted the fan to a larger piece of wood with nuts and bolts and then mounted the wood to the wall. It will present no problem for the typical DIYer. The fan is not silent by any means but on full power it is much quieter than my dehumidifier. Both are in the basement and cannot be heard on the first floor. I also bought the speed control but using it introduces a hum that might be more annoying than the whoosh of the fan on high. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Perfect for the budget grower
Been using this for about a month and a half now and its done pretty good so far. No odd noises or anything like that but it does produce a little bit of wind noise from the fan moving so much air. So it does its job and is well worth the price. The filter seems to be doing really good too. No smell other than the freshest air you've ever smelled in your life!

Top quality. I was surprised.
Absolutely Blows my mind (literally). Super quiet. Can have conversation after about 5ft. YOU HAVE TO HARD PIPE IT !! I noticed 50or so flow restriction with that flex duct. All in all it works superbly at removing. Welding cigarette mj and General smells you don’t want inside as well as outside.

Clears the air but it's pretty loud on high
Loud on high speed but as a weed muffler, this does work. I ran this 24/7 at my new apartment and it got rid of most of the paint stench in a couple days. Also worked well in my old basement, just running it for about a half day got rid of the stench. Unfortunately you have to keep running it to get rid of odors. It's quite loud on high and has a lot of vibration. It's a good deal if you want a carbon air purifier, you won't get anything of this size with a household carbon air purifier. Run it using a speed controller at low and it's more manageable.

So far, so good
Not bad for the price, and what i need it to do. With a fan speed controller its actually pretty useful. Although both (4 in) i ordered came without the white slip over covers. Not a huge deal, actually didnt realize until seeing a few others online. Either way, pleased for now. Ill update if anything goes awry.

Works great for a great price
I purchased the 4" model. This product is an great value for what you get. The fan is not quiet but quieter than most other 4" inline fans. It moves an impressive amount of air and creates negative pressure in my 3x3x6 tent even with 3 passive vents open. The carbon filter removes all odors. Running it from my tent to another room, i noticed no smell, while my tent was extremely smelly, so I can vent outside without annoying neighbors. I'd reccommend it.

Its a sucker filter, not a blower, so not for paint vent hoods.
Seems built ok, however I didnt realize this is a suction type filter. I planned on putting at end of my paint vapor hood to help with the noxious fumes. I will still try it as a blower filter and see if it works. The fit is very loose to a Deka vent hood but a few sheet metal screws and duct tape should do. Will update after use. Been awhile but here is update. Fan is strong, I ended up retrofitting the filter inside the hood to be used as a sucker and wrapped a couple sheets of fiberglass around it to keep paint particles from clogging it. Should have used tape to seal the ends because paint got in anyway. I dont use it much but the filter seemed to not last long so going with a different one but the fan works great!

Hard to Mount with Small Bracket
This is a good fan, not too loud, and it runs a lot of CFM. The problem with this thing is the mounting bracket. The holes on the bracket are clear underneath the fan housing, making it almost impossible to get a screw driver/drill onto a screw that you're trying to mount it with.

Working Well
I've had this fan running now for a good few weeks. It is a little bit noisier than I had hoped it might be ... but certainly not to the point that it's an issue, for me. With my growing setup, I realized I've found I needed to be able to control the fan speed. I'd recommend adding a separate electronic fan speed controller. I'd also suggest for everyone to calculate your CFM needs before making any purchases. (google how). This ventilation system certainly performs to meet my needs, and is well worth the purchase price.

Noise
Definitely does it’s job as advertised however it is extremely noisy even with the controller the slower I make it go the louder it seems to get
