To the rescue, Dan B and Dan F have put together a very well balanced book on the subject of home brewed wind power that puts the reader in touch with the reality and provides the basis for a reasonable expectation from this resource.The mix of theory, craftsmanship and anecdotal humor is perfect. If you follow the book closely, you'll walk away with a well-built 10' diameter efficient wind generator. The design is an excellent follow-on to Hugh Piggot's work on homebrew wind power. It is my opinion that the 2 Dans (and the Colorado crew) have evolved Hugh's work to another practical level such that any North American handyman can produce his own source of reliable clean wind energy.Congratulation to the authors!

Interesting book, on line with Hugh Piggots. You can learn allot with book. I like these guys seeing they live off grid.

If you want a complete guide to building and understanding wind turbines look no further. The appropriate theory and application is all there. As well as excellent instruction, humor, and fun. If you buy this book you will not put it down. Its just too much fun to let go of! I have also purchased "wind Power for dummies", "Build your own Small wind power system", and "A wind turbine recipe book"(by Hugh Piggott). All are packed with good information, but if you could only buy one book Homebrew windpower would, with out question, be that book.

I've looked at a number of wind power books. This is the only one I have found that discusses the set up of the inverter, controller, etc. The presentation on the construction of the wind unit is detailed, and included multiple sizing option. Highly recommend. But you will likely need more than one book if you are seriously interested in renewable energy. So keep looking. Try one on solar too, since you will already have the RE backbone in place from this project.

I was very happy with this book. It contains all the information you would need to learn to build your own wind turbine generator and is put together in a very easy to read and understand format. The authors are entertaining and the information is accurate. There is a great chapter on sources and other materials for a person that wants to make their home more efficient or go off the grid.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I plan to put it to use at some point in the future to build my own wind turbine from scratch. This book gives excellent instruction on how to build your own wind turbine and it is fun to read. I recommend it to anyone interested in wind turbines or renewable energy.

Good book for off-grid power. Mainly for small power supply...does not cover wind generators that are big enough to use for normal household power usage unless supplementing with other electric power.

This is an excellent book for the do it yourselfer. These guys Dan and Dan give you a very detailed step by step instruction on how to build your own wind generator. I've read alot of other books on this topic and this book is by far the best, if your looking to build your own.

What I like about this book, is that you have some updated info available from them. Very well detailled and I believe that you do not need any other books to understand on how it works and how to built them. The author and the crew have done an excellent work on producing this book. good book, nearly enough information contained therein

Well written, easy to understand, enthusiastic explanation of wind energy and how to harness it by people who have done it, many times. It includes their triumphs, failures and lessons learned.

You need this as a companion for the Hugh Piggot manual.Very well written and adds a lot of essential practical detail.A sort of Zen and the art of small horizontal axis wind turbine building.
