So far so good! We ordered two sets of four in these candles to get two remote controls rather than buying a set of eight with only one remote. We wanted to have one remote on each floor of the house. The remotes are terrific! They measure 3.25" X 1.5" X 0.25" and offer five options: on/off, flicker light, steady light, 4-hour timer, and 8-hour timer. Remotes use a replaceable CR2025 3V lithium battery in an easy access slide compartment. Note that the lights must all be switched on for the remote to work. The remote must actually be pointed directly at each candle to activate it. So, if you have candles in windows in separate rooms you must go into each room to remotely activate each candle. Remotes work from outside, too, at least for first floor windows.The 9" candles come with a red tab sticking out under each "flame". The flame must be unscrewed to remove the tab that sits between the flame portion and the top battery in the AA battery compartment. The candle's switch is at the base of the candle which fits into the plastic silver holder. We ordered the silver base which comes with a candle flame that is more white than yellow. The flame is not nearly as bright as the old electric window candles with incandescent bulbs, but these are readily visible from the street at night.There are two downsides to the candles. One is that we don't see any way that the flame can be replaced when it burns out. The manufacturer does not address this. At the very least, information could be given about a flame life (and thus a candle life) based upon average hours usage per day, like is given for a light bulb. So be aware that the candle is done when the flame portion burns out.The second flaw is that the candle is designed to be stabilized using a provided snap ring that attaches to a suction cup. The problem is that the snap ring will only fit around the top part of the 2-inch silver holder and is too small to fit around the candle itself. So, if you sit the candle on a window sill and also have a wood frame window with wood at the bottom of the window rather than glass, the wood frame of the window stands as tall as the silver base. Thus, the suction cup hits the wood frame, which it will not stick to, and makes no contact with the glass!. We ended up taping the base onto the sill in places where the candle might get knocked over.All in all, for us, the neat remote overcome the candle's flaws and warrants a positive rating.

On a 6 hour daily timer candles began to show some dimness after two months. Just replaced batteries and they are once again super bright. So easy to put up and so easy to control with the remote. Will never dread putting up window candles again.

Love the timer feature. I have them all set for the same time and I don’t have to even think about them. Will have to see how long the batteries last. So far one is a bit dim and may need changing after a month.

These are exactly what I was looking for! They’re bright and attractive! A timer would be cool, but the remote definitely makes up for it! The price was perfect too! If I had more windows, I’d buy more! Don’t hesitate!!!

Remote functions for 6 out of eight candles, one candle does not work at all. They look good and the price is good, but electronics require an upgrade.
