Does NOT work with Mac!!!!
I can't talk about the quality of this pedal because unfortunately I can't use it with my Mac. But I will say that it is useless to me.I purchased this pedal to use on my Mac. NOTE: THE HEADING FOR THIS LISTING IS "Transcription Foot Pedal for use with Express Scribe for Windows or Mac Transcription Software." NOWHERE does it say it is not compatible with Mac. WelL guess what. I finally took it out of the box to use it and it was not recognized. I looked for drivers on the ECS website. No drivers. I downloaded the free Express Scribe software and the PDF Help is out of date but mentions MacOS.This pedal is only compatible with Windows. $65 down the drain on something I can't use. Really frustrating. For reference, I have been recording interviews on my Mac, which saves to MP4 format. You can easily convert to MP3 with any number of free services online, then load it into the free ExpressScribe software and slow it down or use your hotkeys to start and stop. Not as easy as the pedal but it's free.

Foot pedal is stiff when pressing it.
The foot pedal plugged right up and ready to go with my Express Scribe program. However it is hard to push and sometimes my foot gets tired bearing down weight to get it to play. Not many to choose from on the market so will have to do. I work from home and it’s a necessity to transcribe. Also of note since I plugged up this new one that replaced my old one, it has some kind of keyboard shortcut connected to it in Microsoft word. I am now constantly deleting brackets that it puts in my document throughout- I’m sure I’m touching a key on the keyboard same time I’m pushing the pedal but I can’t figure it out or how to delete that feature as it is so annoying.

easy to install and use, but heavy
The product is easy to install and to use, very helpful for transcription purposes. It is heavy, though, which I assume means that it's sturdy but not something I would want to lug around too much.

Helps me with transcriptions!
My first unit arrived broken, but they shipped me a new one for free as soon as I reported it. The new unit works as intended and has helped streamline my workflow since I work with lots of audio recordings.
