This turned out to be a great gift. He had fun with his friends swapping out all the inks and practicing their names. Very cool. Wish it had a better storage situation; the box is really more like packaging and there are quite a bit of bits. We use a nice cloth bag and that works well; we kept the plastic insert tho to keep it organized.

For what you get, its good for beginners. The weight of the whole lot is so lightweight it's unbelievable. The quality is ok. It's fine for my teen to start learning on but the next kit we buy will be more substantial

It isn't just this set, everything has shrunken while hiking the prices. The pens are pen size but the ink is little inch long inserts, also I was expecting at least notebook sized practice sheets, it's practically a note pad. Not a lot of quality for this price, even though i got them on "sale".

This is exactly what I wanted. I used it to label Christmas gifts.

These fountain pens have proven great for my budding interest in hand lettering. They don’t always flow perfectly (though some of this is likely user error) but I am pleased with the quality of the letters I’ve written. So other newcomers know, in case you have a workbook or class that specifies, these nibs only vary in thickness, not type: no italic or flex nib

Honestly, a magic marker would be better. The ink is terrible and it’s impossible to write crisp lines or letters… it’s as if the filled the ink cartridges with cheap water color. This was for my daughter and I wanted a starter kit for her like I had when I was a kid. We tried different nibs and different inks from the kit and they all were terrible and didn’t create crisp lines or letters. The result looked as if I used a chisel tipped magic marker. Also, the instructions didn’t give any guidance at all on how to write anything much less the letters. Again, I’ve had starter kits in the past and they included great instructions on how to get started and the inks and nibs created crisp lines and letters. Don’t waste your $25 dollars on this kit.

I use to use pens like these years ago. Still have the touch to do decorative lettering.
