It's doing the job. I hope the structure of this product will hold up for some time.

using it to prevent my dog from accessing a small outside deck area and it's holding up fine in the damp weather, it also has a locking mechanism. BTW it retracts fast so be careful and hold on to it otherwise it works great!

My opening is 68" wide, which is too wide to be able to hold the lock/release button on the retractor side and also reach over to unhook the latch side. It requires too people when extended to this width, so it's difficult to open to walk through, and too high to step over. I also found the template for drilling the holes to be off by about 1/2" on the retractor side. Overall I found the quality of construction to be typical of cheap plastic stuff today. Not a fan. Would not buy again.
