Disturbingly perfect.
Only had them a short while but easily the best I've owned. Not had Berghaus before and I'm a fairly wide 11 with a bunion to boot (boom boom) and these fit perfectly even with a medium thick pair of winter socks. I gave them a dose of dubbin to start with as I've found my feet put a bit of extra stress on the middle bits at the front. I think they call them the withers, but that also might just be a part of a horse that I've heard and always wondered about.Since buying they've endured rain, sleet, floods, snow and severe ice (in just a week !!!) and are absolutely great. Had to negotiate a freezing puddle about 4 inches deep for 20-30 yards and I could hear my boots mocking the attempt at the puddle to wet my socks. Bone dry, so sturdy, extremely comfy (would wear them as slippers except I can't afford to get divorced) and a really thick strong sole. Great buy.

Solid boot, good for walking in winter/wet conditions
These are good, solid boots, with plenty of room in them for wearing multiple sock layers.I've been wearing them out in the very wet conditions that the UK has been living with, and they have kept my fight perfectly dry (although I did add some extra layers of Nikwax before first use). Paired with a good set of gaiters, and you should have toasty, dry feet. They are comfortable, but a bit heavier than the boots that I have been using over the past few years. That said, they are much more solid and sturdy, and offer much better grip, so it's a trade-off that I've been happy to make.I would, without hesitation, recommend these boots to any serious walker. They are true to size, so make sure that you order the correct size allowing for a couple of pairs of socks.Really pleased with them.

Excellent Quality Boots
These boots are a fitting replacement for the worlds best boots "Brasher".Comfortable from the off, fantastic grip even on the wet rocks of Tryfan.I highly recommend these boots, for all hill walkers. Several long hill walking trips later, they look like new.

Wear proper walking socks
Always wary of new boots but these proved on rugged N Yorkshire terrain to be well up to the job. Sturdy, grippy soles, great fit. Walked many miles with no discomfort

Perfect boots for Scottish weather
I’m a professional dog Walker so I can be hard on my boots. These boots are performing perfectly! I’ve broken them in slowly and now they are comfy. Totally waterproof which is rare nowadays. Great construction and materials. Far better than modern outer fabrics treated with waterproof chemical layers as they never last. Very grippy and easy to clean. These boots are great! You get what you pay for on this occasion. Cheers.

I'd have expected a boot with such a high price tag to be more comfortable.
Good looking boots, and reassuringly rugged looking as well, I am sure they would be durable but unfortunately I'll never get to find out. They're nice enough looking that you'd probably be able to get away with wearing these in work at all but the most formal of workplaces, which is also a plus.Unfortunately I had to return mine though, as after wearing them just at my desk for just a few hours, my feet started to hurt so much that I decided that they weren't for me and had to return them.Someone with tougher feet may appreciate these more than I did!

Waterproofing likely to fail
I have worn these boots for four years. They were comfortable from the outset and performed well for hill walking. However I awarded four stars as the waterproofing failed after about two years. To be fair, I have bought more expensive boots, also Goretex lined, which have also failed after a similar period. I have concluded that no leather boot will remain waterproof for more than a couple of years, even if well maintained and in the absence of any physical signs of deterioration. Dry feet are a must for both work and recreation, so if that is important to you, then buy wellies for a few quid - just don’t go hill walking in them.I will probably buy a second pair of these and see if I still have dry feet after two years of modest use. I have learnt not to spend more in the hope of finding boots that remain waterproof until they wear out for other reasons.

Not pretty or light, but keep on going
The best boots I have ever owned. I have worn them nearly everyday for going on for 2 years for dog walking and they have only just started to let water in the left boot. Soles are like new due to very little road use, I have had to do a small repair to the leather on the heal, other than that, feed them, keep them clean and don’t worry about the scuffing of the leather on the toe that will happen. I have a habit of destroying boots in 6 months, these have impressed me and believe me I tried a lot of expensive ones and cheap ones.
