Well worth it.
I know it sounds expensive, but it certainly does the job, and quickly. As important as the protection is, I like the way it made my basic inexpensive studs look far more richer. I would absolutely buy this again.

Way better than I expected!!! Beautiful color.
I don't often write reviews unless I find a product that is extremely good or exceedingly bad. In this case, the product I used was exceptionally good. I built thirteen 4ftx16ft raised garden beds using Douglas Fir 2"x10" sides and a 2"x4" top rail. The raw wood was pinkish in color and I was a bit skeptical I'd achieve a natural looking color. There were also some sun-faded wood in the mix. I applied the material using a sprayer and it went on very easy. The only negative was the tiny particles in the dye mix would clog up the sprayer nozzle. I ended up having to stop and strain the entire 5 gallons of mixture using a paint strainer "sock" to remove all the fine material used in the dye. Once removed, it went on as if you were spraying weeds with a liquid weed killer. I started dying the bottom and inside first. I applied two coats. After that I flipped each garden bed and applied two coats to the outside and top rail. After waiting a bit of time, all of the wood gradually changed to a brown/greyish/olive color. To my amazement, the color came out absolutely beautiful. It essentially turned the wood into a uniform, natural color that was very appealing to the eye and natural surroundings. It reminded me of wood that might be used in the old mines. The wood was new but the finish made it looked like it was distressed and aged, which is what I wanted. I ended up buying four of the 5 gallon mixes to really coat and penetrate the wood. I'd definitely buy this product again, especially knowing it is non-toxic and doesn't affect the fruits and vegetables that we will be planting next .

Easy to Use and Looks Great
Of course, we won't know if it works for 20 or 30 years; but, the reviews are good. They don't encourage using any of the NaCl cleaners before using the preservative. I had some logs already cleaned; so, I let it dry before using the Treatment. I then used it on logs that had not been cleaned with NaCl; they came out the same. So there! I was treating white pine; it developed a fairly uniform brownish gray. Really nice. Will not stain them.

Worked well to create an aged look for new cedar fence
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this product worked. I recently had an 8' cedar plank fence installed, and I wanted the new cedar to match the aged cedar of the tool shed next to it. I mixed the powder with water according to the label and applied it liberally with a roller. By the end of the day the wood was already a light gray color.Time will tell as to how well the cedar continues to age and how well the product preserves and protects the wood. But I have no reason to doubt the manufacturer's claims that it will be permanent and preserve the wood.I ordered the 5-gallon size, but mixed it one gallon at a time. This requires you to visually divide the small amount of powder into five equal parts - not very exact. I recommend that the manufacturer consider adding a small measuring scoop to assist in making less than five gallons at once.Given the size of my project (two sides of a 35' long, 8' high fence - all new, untreated cedar planking) the 5-gallon size was just right. An ordinary, plush paint roller worked well for installation. I used a large plastic bucket, rather than a paint roller tray, and simply immersed the roller in the bucket. Much faster than trying to use a paint tray since I was outdoors and not concerned about spillage or splash.I admit that when I saw the tiny amount of powder that was supposed to make five gallons of preservative, I was dubious. But it worked as advertised.

Amazing product!
Applied to untreated hemlock porch walls, railings and supports with a 1 gallon pump sprayer. Within a few weeks it changed the wood from almost white to the most beautiful rustic gray-brown patina. It looks like it’s been there for years, which is exactly what I wanted. I am completely in love with this product!
