Genius product. No more runaway patio furniture!
These things are friggin genius. My wicker sofa lounge set blows all over tarnation because we live right on the water on a peninsula, and it drove me crazy all last summer. I’ve been having anxiety about bringing my furniture out for the warm months because of it and couldn’t think of how I’d get a zip tie threaded around the deck to secure it, and then BAM, this product. The ONLY potential issue will be if your deck doesn’t have a wide enough slat between each 2x4. I was afraid that would be the case for me but I was able to force them through (the slats in my deck are about 1/4”.) I felt sheer joy installing these because I know they’re going to work perfectly for what I need. Also it was really nice that they give you a few replacement pieces incase you mess up and have to cut one of them and try again. HIGHLY recommend these.

Deck Down
This product is great. I put up a pop up screen gazebo and used the Progrip Deck Downs to tie it down. I've went through two storms and they held my pop up screen gazebo in place. This is a very good item. Met my expectation.

Use different zip ties
First lesson - do not use the included zip ties. They are weak and will break as you try to tighten them down, thus causing you to lose 1/2 the parts. Once I substituted some strong zip ties, the product worked great. My deck furniture no longer gets blown around during our frequent wind storms. I have not looked, but it would be nice if the company just sold the metal part that goes below the decking surface. If I ever need to move/remove these, they will be obsolete without that necessary replacement part.

great purchase
We bought a pop up gazebo and did not want to secure it down with wood screws. After some researching I found these ProGrip deck downs. I saw the video and thought this would be a good thing to secure it down. It was a little tuff getting them in between the wood so keep in mind there needs to be some spacing if you want to place them with ease. I actually used a screwdriver to push them down but I am happy they are so secure since it can get windy and my main concern is will this help hold the gazebo down. I purchased steel clips to attach to them and to the gazebo. It all looks so much neater than the rope we had so I Think this was just perfect. They can stay in place for other seasons if the Gazebo hold up to the elements of weather this summer. We can use the grips that are already in place and put everything back up.

cheap one season use...
so, update after a good windy season and they all broke.so, I would buy them again for one time use only. I'd prefer if the plastic top were metal or stronger and the zip ties to be metal... then you'd get more than a season of use. These work pretty decent for "basic tie down" being used in a TINY slit (between deck boards per typical example).I use these to provide a BASIC deterrent for front porch thiefs (not that they couldn't just yank and break these suckers easily) and to hold down my porch canopy on a medium windy day.I have not tested these for the canopy on a STRONG windy day (clearly I need mother nature for that). We'll see and I'll update my post.I don't expect the plastic zip ties to hold perfectly, which leads me to think these could be upgraded with metal zip ties.Metal zip ties are less likely to break, and are equally slim for the tiny usage situations. It's a GENIUS idea, a washer and a zip tie with a footing. Brilliant! When I was thinking of how to lock things down without drilling holes in my deck, this is exactly what I was thinking. Glad I didn't have to manufacture the footing. ;)All in all, I'd recommend these for "BASIC" tie down situations in small/thin slits. Do NOT expect these to prevent theft, maybe just deter OR to keep your canopy or other umbrella like objects from blowing away (it's a "MINOR" aid or deterrent).

Great Product!!!
These are pretty cool! I replaced my old propane BBQ with an electric this year. The old heavy one used to end up at he other end of the deck in a good windstorm. I figured I had to do something with this new light one. I ran across these and they worked great! I just used some leftover bungee cord I had laying around, and its yet to move a bit!

Great invention but cheap materials.
Zip ties kept breaking and lost a washer. It's definitely a good product and serves its purpose. Good thing there were spare washers and zip ties.

My wife didn't get the idea when she saw the product on the counter but after I attached the chairs to these she was very happy. My toddler on the other hand
After watching our toddler drag a chair to the deck railing then proceed to stand up and lean over the railing, I started searching for solutions. This was exactly what I was looking for to tie down the chairs and prevent any accidents. I got bungee cords to loop around the base of the seat then hook to these. Depending on the length of bungee cord this will allow for you to turn the chairs to sit in, but even prevents chair from tipping. My wife didn't get the idea when she saw the product on the counter but after I attached the chairs to these she was very happy. My toddler on the other hand, was not so happy the next time she tried to move the chairs.
