Garrett A.T. Pro Metal Detector with Pro-Pointer A.T. pinpointer - Waterproof & Made in The USA; Includes Carry Bag, Digging Tool, and Treasure Pouch

I know this was awhile ago when I bought this but I wanted to say that when it arrived it was crushed from other boxes when it came in. Nothing on it worked. The only thing that worked was the pin pointer. I didn't return it cause I was just so bummed. I think it was a stage anyway. So I'm sure it was a good detector, but God didn't want me to have it I guess.

I had no issues with product packaging or assembly. I've had this about a month. It's been a really fun adventure for my son and I. I had a Coin Hustler as a child so anyone in the know will understand this system is a massive upgrade. In terms of the contents of this package, everything feels like good quality. The key components are the AT Pro, the pinpointer, and the digger. I consider all 3 essential. The AT Pro is awesome. Other reviewers do an excellent job of detailing the finer points, but I'll just say it works great for me. The pinpointer is an incredible timesaver in terms of items in the hole, and my son actually uses it to locate items on his own without the AT Pro. The digger is well-crafted and far better than a garden shovel. The other components are nice to have. The instruction book was quite clear, the DVD was useful, and outside message boards have got us up to speed quickly. All in all a great investment in a fun hobby spend great quality time with my son.

Worth the price for the MAIN items in this bundle. However, the camo bag that comes with this is too big to carry. almost 50". It defeats the purpose of transporting this in a car or medium vehicles. I bought a small tactical gun bag made by 'explorer' for this thing. Yes you have to take it down to fit in that bag. but it does not attract attention. You just go wherever you want like a backpacker and assemble the detector on-site like a covert hitman. With the garret bag, I bet you will have a crowd around you as soon as you get out of the vehicle. The sheath for the digging too has a huge ugly writing in white which is also unpleasant.The big negative is the headphones. Instead of this headphone and cap or whatever, they could have included the much useful headphone adapter. Garret's over-the-head phone makes you look ugly, sweat and irritate you and also attract attention as you look like a retarded DJ on the beach/park. If the Garrets actual objective (rather than milking money with their proprietary headphone jack) was to minimize the external sounds, they could have easily included an IN-EAR headphone and a headphone jack. but that is not the case.However, I will give five stars to the supplier 'detector experts' for including the mini sheath for the pro pointer along with the included treasure bag. I see that many other sellers here take this away and sell it as a separate piece and make more money.

I absolutely love this detector kit. I have been searching for a detector for a very long time, with these functions and at this price. With everything that this kit comes with, it is easy for even a novice to get started detecting. The included pin-pointer by Garrett works wonderfully, is completely water-proof and has audible indication and vibrating indication. The detector itself (the Garrett AT Pro) is submersible completely (with the exception of the headphones). It has Standard and Pro settings so that even beginners can use this detector. The included bag, hat and DVD Manuel are great editions. This kit allows everyone from beginner detectors all the way to intermediate and expert, to get everything they need in one kit. It has an included shovel for digging up your finds and hip bag. Batteries are included.

Not a bad kit for the first timer, used this about 4 times now and found a few things but with most metal detecting you get a lot of junk. I like the pinpointer nicely made and I like that this unit is waterproof and that I tested and no issues. I do wish the case was black and didn't loom ore like a rifle case than a case for a metal detector, lol. I will see about finding something else a bit more less threatening if you get stopped on the road :-).

Machine, like any hobby, works as well as the user knows the machine.Greater use increases chances of finding goodies! I have found coins from 1885, silver rings, thimbles, and it lead me to many of bottle dumps by finding jar lids and other iron. 1700's bottles are now rescued from the truck muck track of the local islands. Great value, great fun, sturdy, waterproof with correct use.Always use coil cover.

New to metal detecting. Have been out a few times since I got this detector, have used it in the water and on land and love it!! Found a few dollars in coins and several interesting items. Bought the 5x8 coil and have been using it - haven't used the stock coil yet. The pointer is awesome! The padded detector bag is great too - lots of storage! Headphones work well. Look forward to getting some waterproof ones. Video is very helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good all terrain detector!

I have not got around to using it yet so I need to find a local metal detector club
