Good quality vent for gas fireplace

Our gas stove needed a vent hood, and this fit the need. It was simple to install, fit the ductwork quite well, and looks just fine. If the gas company ever gets around to hooking up the gas line, I will know then whether or not it works.

We purchased the DuraVent 46DVA-HC termination cap to finalize the installation of a Majestic gas stove. We pulled a permit and purchased DuraVent direct venting for the vent from the stove through the exterior wall. Be sure to follow all the manufacturer's instructions, if you're doing your own install. DuraVent provides a set of well-written instructions with their direct vent products. Always use an approved fire-rated sealant, as recommended by the manufacturer, and follow all your local building codes.We selected this ventilation cap based on price and a neighbor's recommendation. It's a perfect mate to the DuraVent direct venting from the stove to the outside, so I'd recommend using all DuraVent products together. The outer wall of the cap is aluminum while the inner wall is galvanized steel. The outer aluminum wall carries the outside cool air into your heating appliance. The inner steel wall exhales the hot gasses coming from your appliance.Our cap has been installed for over a year now and it looks the same as the day it was installed. The construction quality is very good and it holds up well to large changes in temperature, as is found in the winter. Some of the metallic edges are very sharp, so be careful handling the termination cap. Using gloves helps reduce the risk of cuts.Following a proper installation, you can expect many years of service from this termination cap.

First vent was damaged and had to be returned. I’m still waiting for the refund. Second came with no damage and was easily installed

Received quickly and in perfect condition. Well fabricated vent termination, easy to intall. Haven't experienced high wind or rain yet.Update:Prevents air and wind from entering. Pilot light doesn't blow out anymore.

Excellent product works great for Majestic propane fireplace
