GOOD NEATSFOOT OIL FOR LEATHER
Grew up using one brand or another of Neatsfoot oil on all my baseball mitts and leather work boots. It prolongs the life of the leather by keeping it moist and supple and stops the leather from drying out and cracking. It does darken the leather when you first apply it, but the leather seems to lighten up in a few weeks or so. I haven't used it on polished or glossy finished leather like dress shoes because the oil kind of just sits on top of the glossy finish and isn't absorbed by the leather underneath. I have a pair of 10 year-old leather work-boots, I use this stuff maybe once every six months and the leather is still in good shape. Same with some leather boat shoes, some leather Skechers, and like I said, baseball mitts.

Excellent product
I purchased a high quality leather boom for work and as you might imagine the leather was very stiff being new. I put two applications of this oil on the boots and they've been wonderful ever since. That was over a year ago.

Great product, packaging not so much
This product is absolutely amazing and brought. My husband's favorite old hat back to life. But be careful when opening the package. Mine was inside of an Amazon mailer with the oil was inside of a separate bag and in that bag the oil had leaked. It was a small amount and definitely not enough to go through the hassle of trying to return. I would just be very careful when opening this.

Successfully Darkens and Conditions
This neats foot oil conditions and nourishes your leather as expected and as attested by other reviewers. However, my more desired purpose was the claim to more permanently darken leathers. For reference, I wanted to ‘naturally’ darken my Redwing Beckman boots from their original Cigar Featherstone colorway to a shades closer to a darker brown. As of this writing, I’m about two weeks and nine coatings in and the boots are hitting the medium brown spectrum. Of note: prior to the first coating, I’ve had history applying a few coatings of mink oil, but am finding more noticeable darkening from this neats foot product. From the reviews, it sounds like differing types and qualities of leather will have differing experiences with the neats foot darkening impact, but will always result in a well conditioned and maintained product. Keep it in mind for your leather conditioning regimen.

Works amazing on everything I've tried it for. Smooth leather only.
Started using this about 8 years ago for my work boots. "Waterproof" work boots lose their "off the shelf" effectiveness after about a month, and this product restores waterproofing 100% and lasts 3x that at minimum (I'm ankle deep in water often). I've used this on dress shoes, holsters, gloves, anything regular smooth leather, all different colors from light tan to black, and have NEVER been anything but impressed. As for any negative reviews, they either used it incorrectly, without doing a quick clean 1st, or are simply trolling. Very mild sent, does not discolor, and a little bit goes a long ways. This WILL make whatever leather you use it for better than new. Tip: Use 2 coats, make sure it's dry between steps (clean with damp towel, allow to dry, apply, allow to dry, reapply, allow to dry)

Great leather product
I have an old, but new baseball glove that has never been broken in. I tried other baseball glove specific products and they were much more expensive and they did not work well. I used this neatsfoot oil - two applications and the glove is much more pliable and it is what I want it to be. I also have a pretty new pair of Redwing boots and they were pretty stiff. I gobbed on the oil and now they are very comfortable. Don't be skimpy with the oil. But do plan on leaving the item overnight for the oil to soak in. My glove and boots were wet with the oil when I set them out to dry overnight. In the morning, they were dry and good to go and I used the glove that morning. And I still have a bunch of the oil left for other uses.

great product
I had to move two very nice white leather stools out to my enclosed patio. I treated the leather & this product was absorbed in & I will give it a 2nd coating.
