Don't really know what an "expensive" or "good quality" shoulder rest would feel like, as I have never really used one. But tbh, I don't see a problem with this one. Build quality is fine for this price. Also, if your body structure is such that you have neck and jaw pain while playing without a shoulder rest, then just go for it. It should feel comfortable. And a piece of advice: just keep a piece of cloth or handkerchief or your preferred cushion on the chin rest while playing your violin. 😊
