Purchased in may of 2019. Had terrible success trying to weld. Saw a post that suspected the rod was pp. I tested my rod and sure enough the SG is less than or equal to .92 confirming this is either LDPE or PP. Do not by this is a scam, passing of inferior materials that are useless in plastic welding.

Polyethylene and polypropylene aren’t the same thing.Copolymer is polypropylene with an ethylene molecule. There is random and block copolymer.It comes from China so idk if it’s a language barrier or what. But this is polypropylene rod and it’s not even good quality.I go though about 300 lbs of 5/32 rod yearly. I’m a dvs certified welder in hshw on pe.This would make a great material to support tomatoes or something like that. Idk if I’d weld anything with this. Weld test revealed that it’s Polypropylene. Not polyethylene.
