Easy to use right out of the box
The media could not be loaded. My laundry room flooded and I'm replacing the flooring. The moisture is in the sub flooring - along with the existing flooring. The floor company told me to buy a moisture reader to monitor the sub floor, because they cant install replacement/new flooring until the reading is less than 5%. When I first got this reader it was over 50% on the sub floor, so I have been using heaters and fans. Now it is down to 25% - but the best thing is... I know nothing about flooring or moisture or how to use moisture readers, but this is super intuitive and easy to use.> Just hit one button to tell it what material it is "wall, hardwood, softwood", etc. then it's super easy - just lay the reader where you want it to read and it does the rest.> Seems very accurate. If i test, then re-test again, readings stay consistent.> Would be easy to locate a leak. You really do just run it over surfaces and it will change in real time. I personally dont have an active leak, but this is accurate and can pin point areas that are more moist than others.> In the video - the sub floor is less moist than the flooring that was soaked and is still installed. You can see how it detects different moisture levels in different areas. Very nice way to monitor as moisture levels go down.> OVERALL - so happy I went with this model, even though I was comparing it with a couple others that were a little cheaper. This one works VERY VERY well.. that's all that is important when your in a situation where you need one of these. If you buy a cheaper one, that may not be as accurate - you will be kicking yourself later when your entire project is up in the air and your going to spend that extra $10 at Starbucks because your stressed out and need coffee :)

Battery lasted longer than the meter
I'm an insurance adjuster and need a meter to determine where water is and isn't. This does a wonderful job. I gave it 5 stars for it's price and ability limitations. However after not daily use but regular use it stopped working after a year. There's the Lost star. The pad on the back has worn thru, and it just stopped reading. It turns on and I thought it was the battery so I swapped it out with a new one. That didn't solve the problem. I bought another one because it's easy to use and cheap, I just would have liked it to last more than a year. And I put the old battery in the new meter and it still has most of the charge left, so storing the new battery for future use. Sad the battery lasted longer than the meter did...Now to those who would use this instead of a professional assessment, I would use this to conclude you NEED a professional, not to use yourself, because their equipment is WAY better and more accurate, and though your drywall may read dry, the problem is your wood studs inside the wall are most likely still wet and this meter won't tell you that. This is a great reference tool, but that is all it is, a reference tool, not a professional diagnostic tool. I will however still trust it daily to tell me what I need to know for my job. Also, almost all concrete reads wet with this meter, and most thin flooring reads wet or elevated if installed over concrete. Don't like that, but I just use a reference point I know it's not damaged and use that as the baseline and look for elevated areas above that.

Incredibly useful. Don't buy a used boat without it.
I bought this to figure out what was going on with the transom on my newly-acquired boat, and man I wish I had bought this before I bought the boat. Long story short, I was installing a transducer when I noticed that the shavings were very wet. I didn't want to drill all over the transom of my boat, so I bought this instead to get a sense of how bad it was. This meter can read through the fiberglass using the "wall" setting, and it reliably reads out moisture percentages varying as you glide over the surface you are measuring. This is 100% better than trying to do a knock test to tell whether a transom is soaked--especially if you are a first time buyer and don't really know how to hear the difference between a dry knock and a wet knock. If you are in the market for a boat, I highly recommend this meter. It also works on an actual structure like a home. I needed some good news, so I tested it out around the house, and thank God, my walls are dry. Now, to figure out how to dry out that transom . . . .

Easy to use, easy to read
It found moisture, but I have no other meter to compare it with for accuracy.I used this to detect in-the-wall water damage in my home without damaging the plaster before I chose to open up the wall. Other meters used prongs to poke into the wall, this one does not.It let me find and only open up up the sections where there was moisture, without opening the entire wall.THAT is why I chose it, and it works / worked great.

Display
I can not read the display unless i am directly in front of it. To read high and low place's i must either lay on the floor or step on a ladder. Other than this issue the meter seems to work. I also noticed if you rotate the meter while reading helps to read the display in angles or reaching high or low. The numbers start disappearing in different angles. So you must rotate the meter while sliding across the surface of the wall to see it clearly.

Didn’t work for us - returned
Bought this to use at our house. Instructions weren’t great, but we figured out how to use it. It didn’t pick up any moisture on walls (0%) and only up to 35% on floors. Other meters picked up 15-80% moisture in those same areas. Not sure if the one we received was just defective, but I ended up returning this moisture meter.
