Beautifully written and utterly enchanting stories which also educate young readers about the real lives of the animals involved. Perfect for able Key Stage 1 readers but read aloud they will be enjoyed by 4 year olds upwards. These books are a perfect introduction to 'chapter' books for budding bookworms! You will be glad you invested in this set.

I remember my delight in reading these stories as a child and so was thrilled to be able to get copies to read to my four year old. He loves them just as much as I did. We read a 2-3 chapters a night, so each book takes a few nights to complete. It is a shame that "the aardvark who wasn't sure" isn't included in this set though.For those who remember the original books, "the penguin who wanted to find out" is the one that used to be called "penguin's progress".

Ordered late Sunday evening arrived Monday afternoon. Exquisite books to read to your children.....read The owl who was afraid of the dark to my class. Full of wonderful descriptive chapters....charming characters and beautifully humerous. The kids were hooked so Ive bought the box set .

My 8 year old daughter got given one of these books from her teacher and enjoyed it so much that we were very pleased to see the rest of the books in this set which work out great value each - would recommend for this age group.

Good little set of books I thought they would have a little cardboard sleeve like other sets but no just the books

I read 'The owl who was afraid of the dark' to my son 25 years ago and he loved it, so I thought I'd buy the set for my great nephew as he likes a bed time story, and he loves them too, especially PLOP the baby barn owl.I would recommend them to anyone who has small children that likes to read. Thank you Jill Tomlinson for a great collection of animal stories.

Lovely books, lovely stories, in lovely condition- packed in plastic rather than the nice box show. Ordered twice (as it was a gift) both times got same. (Returned other)

Lovely set of books that my seven year old son capably read independently. Bought for him as one book was on a School reading list but it would make a lovely present, great value for money too!

Excellent books for the early reader

What wonderful children's books. My 4.5 year old daughter is really enjoying having me read a chapter to her every night. I grew up with "The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark" so thought I'd try to other books. They're all rather similar but perfect for a 4 year old. She absorbs and remembers everything she hears. :)

These books are all wonderful, especially the kitty. This set makes them all very affordable.

Would have given 5 stars but the gorilla one portraits hunting as bad so throw it in the trash the others are great books for kids
