game changer!
I own two hairless dogs who love to get a bath and smell good. my daughter owns a german shepherd dog who lives here a lot and not a fan of getting clean. if you have a big dog, you know they have big dog smells. small dogs only have small smells but we still like them to be good smells.using the dog shampoo is a challenge on a fluffy dog. you wet the dog, the shampoo slides off, you try to suds it up, it doesnt move around well.so i read the reviews for this washbar and went for it.game changer!you wet your dog, then rub the washbar of soap around them. this is easy and the dog seems to like me rubbing him with the bar... it starts to lather up, not too much, but just enough that you know where it is. it smells great, not like soap on a wet dog but you really get a fresh citrus smell. i am into clean fresh citrus stuff. this reminds me of one of my lemon verbena products i use. its very pleasant. that makes dog cleaning less of a chore you hate to do and you want to slow down and enjoy the smell. :)i work it in well with my fingers and the dog loves that part. he has a thick coat of medium length fur. in no time at all i have it all over him where i want it and worked in.now the fun part... this rinses off clean and fast! not like the shampoo i was using that just kept sudsings and sudsing and you feel like you will never get it off. but this washbar dog soap stuff comes off. your dog feels as clean as he now is. i can not say enough about this.i was my small dogs in the kitchen sink and the big one washes in the shower with me. so its really handy that is comes clean so fast.the scent of the washbar wont linger long, but later on the dog just smells pleasantly clean and not doggy.i have used it twice now on the German Shepherd and he is not scratching! so it must be nice on his skin. these dogs are known for itchy sensitive skin. i also tried it on my skin to see what it felt like after and i did not feel overly dry. my hairless pups also came clean and not dry flaky skin after.as always, i will post back up over time to let you know if it stands the test of time. i am really glad i did the two pack to try it, as i love it and its cheaper to get the two pack.

IT REALLY IS AS GOOD AS ADVERTISED.
O.M.G. This is what you have been looking for. If you check my other reviews, you’ll find I am not one to gush and sing praises. This product is worth every penny. It lathers very well and you can clean throat and belly and butt just as thoroughly as the back and head. It doesn’t just run off like a liquid shampoo. It smells delightful without being perfumey. And my little, baby Lala gets well and truly clean. This is a great, great product that actually lives up to the manufacturer’s claims. Get it! It’s the good stuff.

Really good, but I’m going to keep looking
My dog feels great. She’s very clean after a double wash, and her short fur is more hydrated than it’s been in the past (we do use this product with conditioner). I love the bar and won’t be going back to liquid. The scent is good. Lasts a really long time. What I don’t like about this bar is how it clots up before running down the drain. All the soap scum combined with hair makes the water back up, so I continually have to clear the drain. I don’t have this problem with liquid soap. So while I really like the bar I’m going to look for another one that doesn’t do this.

Embrace the bar
I really like the ease of use of the bar of soap instead of trying to control the dog while squeezing a bottle into my hand or onto the dog. Just keep the soap in your hand while massaging it into the dog's fur and skin. Left my Pyrennes/Aussie coat soft and shiny. Pleasant smell although some may not like the earthy smell which fades quickly. Used it only once but guessing I can get about 10+ baths out of each bar.

Not great for my dog's coat (and she tries to lick it off)
I was really excited to move away from dog shampoo in a large plastic bottle, and for that, this product is great! (It also smells nice in a very subtle way -- which is exactly what I want). However, two things about it mean I will use it up, but likely won't purchase again (for my dog at least). (1) My dog spends her bath trying to lick this soap off of her body, which she has never done with any other dog soap/shampoo (and she's almost 8, so we've tried a few over the years). It means she's a lot squirmier in the bath, which makes bath time more complicated. If that was it, I'd still use it, but, (2) it leaves her coat a bit dull and with a slightly tacky feeling. And no, it is not because I don't fully rinse it off! Even with the squirming, I take extra time (sometimes double) to rinse her, and she gets completely rinsed (by feel, look, time, and every metric I can think of), it just leaves a slightly tacky feel to her coat and without the shine I'm used to. She does have an unusual coat (she's a golden doodle with hair that feels like a golden's fine coat, but a slight curl to it, doesn't shed). I suspect that a shorter-coated dog, or a thicker-coated dog would not have this issue. So, all things considered, I don't think the trade-off is worth it for us.

Great dog shampoo
My white standard poodle (why, oh why, did I get a white dog?) loves filth. The stinkier the better. This wash bar gets him clean and smelling good. He gets a bath at least once a week, sometimes more often, and this gentle soap doesn’t irritate his skin. The bar is easy to use and smells great.

Bought it again
I tried this product because one of my Standard Poodles has a skin condition and I wanted a good shampoo. I have 4 large dogs, two Standard Poodles and 2 Sheepadoodles. I was going through liquid shampoo like water. I saw these bars and thought they looked like a good idea to conserve on shampoo. Turns out that I was right. The whole idea of bar soap actually works really well on dog fur. It's very easy to manage because you can rub it on and there's no waste. Additionally, it got them clean and I really like the smell...no chemical, perfume smell, just a rather strong and clean botanical smell. The girl who works for a breeder friend of mine used it when I brought it over and she preferred it to the liquid shampoos...she said it was easier to use! I just bought another 2-pack for them. Good solution even if I thought it was a bit pricy at first; actually has proven to be quite cost effective.
