I bought 12 of these beautiful sturdy bottles to use for secondary fermentation of kombucha. I looked through so many products, many of which seemed to have unacceptably high rates of breakage (Manufacturer? Seller? Both?). I stopped looking when I saw this listing for Bormioli, a brand I trust from previous purchases. This was the only company that noted its bottle is heavier (in a good way) than its competitors. And I was lucky in my seller, who wrapped each bottle in double layers of bubblewrap. Trust Bormioli to get it right. And enjoy your ferment!

Purchased these bottles to brew water kefir, and they are working great. The bottle is really pretty, so it would work great as a water/drink carafe at an outdoor party as well. You have to handwash them. If you want to wash it thoroughly, add about a tablespoon of rice in the bottle using a funnel along with some dish soap and a bit of water. Then, shake the bottle all around to clean.

I use these to batch make cocktails and keep in the freezer. I used a label maker to label the bottles and after a year they hold perfectly as day one. No leaking at all.

Purchased for fermentation and creation of carbonation. I see some glass imperfections that I hope don't "break" down. Also, the rubber stopper (seal) seems barely large enough to cover the opening (I have another brand that that I prefer on this point).I am satisfied with the weight and thickness of this glass.I will update this review after several uses to comment on ability to carbonate beverages.08/01/2025 Use Update. I have changed my rating because after 10 months of use for second fermentation of kombucha, I have had no cap failures and my booch is nice and bubbly.

I like how I can use these jars for almost anything. The glass is definitely sturdy because I have dropped the couple of times and it didn’t break or crack. The only negative thing about these jars is that I wish it came with a brush to clean because I had to buy the brush separately.

I make homemade water kefir and I like it to be carbonated. I tried some glass bottles before and one of them burst and it sounded like a gunshot going off and I ended up with grape water and glass all over my kitchen. I was wary to try glass again but these were recommended to me so I decided to do it another shot. I am so glad I did! These are awesome. My second ferment of water keeper is very carbonated and the bottles are doing great. I would definitely recommend these.

THESE are the ones you want! I ordered this set as my first set of 1 liter swing-top bottles and was very happy with their quality. The metal swing-top latches are substantial and lock very firmly and soundly. I figures all the other similar bottles on Amazon were the same, so when the time came for ordering my next set, I chose a similar looking set for about $8 less. WHAT a difference! The metal used on the other set was flimsy and poorly formed, so that the bottles did not latch firmly, and the metal frequenly popped off the top of the bottles! So I sent those back and ordered another set of these - PERFECTION! Once again I received a good quality bottle with a wide flat base and a MUCH HIGHER QUALITY CLOSURE! Pay a few extra bucks and order these - you'll be very happy with them!

I use my bottles for my teas my waters to ferment. They’re just great. They’re awesome. I love them.
