Finally, I found a perfect cup of espresso. Some had strange aftertastes, while others had strange drinking tastes. Some had spice or other unwanted bright tastes. For a perfect espresso, I need darker beans, but with other dark beans, it’s too bitter like drinking charcoal. When I switch back to medium roast, I feel like something is missing. But with this INTENSO roast, it’s just perfect. It’s smooth, tastes great, and gives a perfect kick without bitterness or strange aftertastes.

Ohhhh the fabulous coffee smell when you pull open the seal but it doesn’t stop there. I use it in my Philips automatic espresso machine and I’m hooked. I have tried many other coffees but Illy thus far has the best flavor.

The coffee beans are great, with a rich aroma that I really enjoy. However, one of the cans seemed a bit old when it arrived, and it was missing the lid. Unfortunately, the beans weren’t very fresh because of this. A bit disappointing, but the flavor is still good overall.

What a wonderful experience to taste these beans: Stout, mellow, smooth, and hardy. Grind for a press, drip or swedish boil. The taste will drive you to re-examine why you ever drank another coffee! the coffee is good but the can arrived dented without a lid. Unacceptable for coffee at this price point. It's difficult to keep coffee beans fresh without a lid. I won't be buying again
