So the mini safe for your auto fits a full size Glock 17 with one more magazine. I am showing a Stoeger STR-9C with two magazines plus one in the pistol.DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING NEAR THE SWING OF THE LOCK OR IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO LOCK OR UNLOCK IT. I read in a review that someone had locked it and couldn’t unlock it. If this happens stand the safe up so the lock is at the top then tap it down with some force so what ever is in there slides downward away from the lock so you can turn the key and open it.It does not come with an address to write for extra keys. It only d with two keys as stated.The inside is a black foam cut to shape, nothing special but does its job Nicely and can be replaced later on as it is not glued into the box which is good.Finish is a a flat stipple black and is nice. Hinges appear to be okay. Lock mechanism seems solid and shows no play.Cable that comes with it is okay and does its job.

We needed a way to stash out phone, smart car key and wallets when we went swimming in Hawaii and not worrying about a smash and grab.We never got broken into, but we were able to swim/snorkel with the little key and stash all the valuables in the car safely. Made us feel safer. I doubt thieves plan on breaking into a box if they are smash and grab, so just a good deterrent. I wrapped the cable around the seat base.The lock was not extremely reassuring but it worked. I am sure someone dedicated to breaking into the box would have been successful.

Is as described. Metal 16 gauge body with 12 gauge side reinforcements / lock structure. Design would keep a child out, and the cable would prevent simple smash and grab theft.Hinge retaining rod can be tapped out in seconds, allowing lock to be bypassed. Hinge is secured with 4 tiny spot welds. Lock is a simple file cabinet type with tiny weak metal finger holding it shut. Lock could be torqued out in seconds, prybar could rip the hinge / lock finger apart easily. Cable easily cut by any wire cutter.The box itself is sturdy. A good value. Reinforcing the hinge with bolts and a plate, switching the cable for a heavier duty bike type, and ditching the lock for a long neck padlock, straight through top to bottom, is an easy cheap upgrade, would make the base "box" a much more effective deterrent.

This is a solid, metal constructed safe for handguns and other small valuables. It has heft, but not too much. The 3-digit combination was easy to set up. Securing your handguns from children, distressed adults and thieves is both wise and now legally required in some states, like Michigan. Children are naturally curious, and they should not kill or be killed due to this. Teens are famously moody. This is also better for STORING handguns than plush padded transportation cases, which hold humidity against the gun, which is BAD for rust formation. NEVER store your guns in cases that "hug" the gun. Instead, let AIR surround the gun. For this safe, it may be best to remove 1 or both layers of foam to allow that air circulation.

The part that turns the latch is made of cheap plastic. It snapped at some point leaving my pistol unsecured in my car. If I you twist the knob even when it's locked it will break open without much force. Not secure at all.
