Deni 6000 Ice Crusher

This thing works great! Yea it's noisy. But it's crusing ICE (try chewing up a piece of ice with your fingers in your ears and you'll get the idea). It's good for small batches: one full bin can make 3-4 martinis. This ice is also wonderful in Coke!

The Deni 6000 works good for only a few weeks before it fails dangerously. I have 2 units that did the exact same thing. One of the rotating blades breaks off and comes out with the ice. Fortunately for me I noticed it in my glass before eating it. Two units-identical failures. This machine is a potential safety hazzard. I will be contacting Deni about their defective design. If you use this ice crusher and it starts sounding louder than usual, one of your blades is probably bent and about to break off. Beware!

Not very sturdy, and rather small capacity for making ice. Somewhat difficult to clean, but effectively & efficiently makes crushed ice

Does a good job at crushing the ice, though a little inconsistent in quality. The feed hopper can only take one to two cubes at a time so it is a little time consuming. Works well for small amounts, however you can do it ahead and store the crushed ice in the freezer. Sure beats the hand crank version.

Deni should of called this an ice shaver vs an ice crusher. If you want to make snowcones, its great. Be prepared to feed the hopper ice cubes 1 by 1, because thats about all that will fit. If you want ice chips, buy a good blender or one of those hand crank ice crushers. On the plus side, it is stylish and the motor is quiet. If you want snowcones, buy it. But if you want good old chipped ice, don't!

I bought a new refrigerator and after installation found that it only produced ice CUBES - not crushed ice. I love the refrigerator, so looked online for an ice crusher. Although I wanted a black Deni Ice Crusher, white one was the only color available at the time. The ice crusher was put to work immediately upon receiving it, and I love it. The crushed ice is better than what a refrigerator ice crusher could deliver.

Been using Ice Crushers/Shavers for years due to a medical condition. Many of them used to last me 6 months to a year, but lately even the quality ones have less quality parts and have only been lasting 3-6 weeks. SO I thot I would try a Deni since I have seen them for years and haven't tried them.I was shocked after using fairly good quality ice shavers (that make it like snow) it didn't work when I plugged it in. Then I realized I could only put in one cube of ice at a time... then it like split up a cube of ice into like 8 parts... not like snow at all, or even shaved ice. I had to get a refund with in 10 minutes of it arriving at my door I was so shocked at the poor quality....To a recent reviewer who used this one after using a hand cranked one, the Deni might have seemed nice in comparison to hand cranking, but I suggest you try a Hawwiaan (?) Ice variety of machines, you might REALLY be pleased... unless you use them everyday then they won't last a very long time, but they do make good ice.

This product does the job, but it is noisy and slow. It can accommodate only one ice cube at a time. I bought the product to crush ice for cocktails and find that it crushes the ice too finely for this purpose. Tends to make for watery drinks.
