I am a cosmetology student and I wanted a mannequin to use solely for cutting. Some things I have made note of while using this mannequin:Pros: beautiful, long, shiny hair, and even length all around.Cons: hair tangles easily and dries too quickly for haircutting use and CANNOT use heat.Overall, I like this mannequin because it's great for cutting. The hair is beautiful and long and should last for the remainder of my schooling. One thing I would like to make note of are the hair tangles. If this is something you are looking for to gift a child, just be aware that the hair does tangle pretty easily, and if it's not taken care of right away it will get worse.I do recommend for cosmetology use.*IMPORTANT NOTE*This is synthetic hair, meaning you cannot use hair color or other chemicals on it.UPDATE: I went to curl the mannequin and it did not curl. The hair was as straight as could be and didn't have not even the tiniest sign of a curl. I turned up the heat and left the iron on the section of hair for longer, and the hair still didn't budge. I touched the hair and it felt thinner compared to the hair where the heat was not applied. The seller claim that heat and hot tools can be used on the mannequin, but that is NOT true. I'm pretty disappointed because the hair is long and beautiful and I just know curls would've looked great on her.

My 8 year old loves doing hair so we got this for her. She loves it. It was affordable and serves its purpose! Her hair does tangle pretty easy but we’ve learned to comb out certain styles and keep it sectioned and braided before putting it away. She did have quite a bit of shedding the first couple of days but that has subsided. Overall I’d give this a 8.5/10.

This hair is perfect for practicing braiding, cutting, coloring, or styling hair. My girls really enjoyed styling this mannequin head. The hair quality is soft and easy to work with. The hair holds curls good and can handle heat without damaging the hair. Love this mannequin doll head.. it’s worth the money!

The media could not be loaded. If you're wanting to use the mannequin head for any kind of face painting don't. You can use some light colors washer off you can look up some hacks on how to use it but the material is I would say too soft maybe I don't know the right word but I found out that you can spray it with hairspray let it set dry do some little face paints and then take it off you should have a magic eraser clean one and soap and water but the dark colors will stain it. Thankfully I got mine out and I don't use dark colors on it I think it's fabulous so it's very helpful to me and I'm learning to do some braids I went to cosmetology school when I was younger this is a great mannequin head to have to practice multiple things I guess you can do some makeup I'm not positive I check into it but I love the way that it just back and forth and very good quality. I just wish I could do face painting on it cuz it would be absolutely perfect. Without having to worry about a staining. It's hard I haven't found one yet but I can use face paint on. 👍

Perfect to practice hairstyles and braids on. I’m still shocked at the low price! I mean the hair quality and even skin texture for this price point is unreal. Of course there are a few flaws but the bargain out weighs that completely. Being a mom with two girls I wanted to know how to braid so badly (but they never let me practice on them.) I’m so happy I purchased this. My daughters have played with it too. Fixing her hair and everything. I would even recommend this for kids instead of the Barbie heads any day hands down!!Pros: price was on point!Learned to braid in one day!Kids have practiced on it everyday!Skin is soft and durable and kind of squishy (Not hard plastic at all!)Hair is perfect thickness, and length.Haven’t tried it, but makeup should work on it too because the texture isn’t slick.Doesn’t shed as bad as I thought it would.My kids have loved it too, I’m buying another one so I don’t have to share!Plus with prime I got free next day shipping!!Cons: head on clamp is a tad loose but could be fixed, I just preferred holding it in my lap.Don’t think the hair would take any heat, or products on it. The hair was okay but definitely didn’t feel like 100% human—it tangles easily and sheds a lot. Good for basic practice, but don’t expect salon quality. The stand also wasn’t very sturdy.

Im currently in cosmetology school and this was the quickest thing I could get last minute due to us beginning in hair. I figured it would be useful for at least pin ups/roller sets but sadly the hair won’t stop getting tangled. I have to keep combing it out with every section of hair I’m dividing. It won’t even wrap around the rollers while wet and unravels soon as you get close to the scalp of the doll. Look how many pins I even tried using to simply keep the hair from falling off the roller. I wouldn’t even dare washing this thing due to the fact that it tangles SO BAD. And usually shedding wouldn’t bother me, but THIS! A nightmare. I’m feeling strands of hair all over me even after cleaning up, it’s just all over the place. The only thing I can see benefiting from this, is for the hair cutting process but I wouldn’t use this to even practice adding in hair while braiding because although many pictures are shown with braids, I’m sure it took them longer and more patience for the hair to even grip it properly for it to stay in place. It unravels very quickly. PLEASE SAVE THE HASSLE. It’s just better to spend your money on something that’s actually substantial and won’t create headaches. It can already be frustrating learning hair techniques, don’t make your brain hurt even more with this mannequin.
