I know this castle is meant to decorate aquariums, but it’s a perfect addition in my outdoor fairy garden. Love the beautiful detail! Perfect home for my drunk little gnomes!

After visiting Kilchurn Castle in Scotland last year and seeing the Highland Cattle out roaming around it I knew I needed to do a vignette/diorama. This aquarium piece fit the bill perfectly along with hairy coo Christmas ornaments repurposed. Once some other landscaping pieces cone in this will be a fantastic recreation of a wonderful day in the Scottish Highlands!

The castle was smaller than I thought it would be or at least in my hand but fits perfectly in my 6.5 gallon tank. At least I think so, leaves just the right amount of space around for plants and other decorations. My fish, Aric (r-rick) that means eternal king, thought this would be perfect for a king especially one that loves swimming in and around stuff. The castel is a little more red in the water than I'd like but still beautiful nonetheless. I also went over each edge (just about all of them) that might be the slightest sharp and filed it down for his protection. I'm glad I did with how much he swims around the castle. Not much smell came from it and just washed it down after failing then put it in the same day.

A small piece broke off in the bottom right hand side as soon as I opened it which is why I took a star off. I filed it to smooth out the part and put it in my 3.5 gallon quarantine tank for now with no fish.Update: when I lifted the lid on my quarantine tank the smell was overwhelmingly horrible. It stayed like that for a few days so I had to take it out as I needed my tank for live fish. I’ve set it outside in the sun and ordered plasti dip to cover it so I can put it in my tanks but I don’t know that I would use this in my tanks without an aquarium safe coating!

The media could not be loaded. Love it! Honestly so cute. Not too big so you definitely have room to add more to your tank. My fish likes to hide inside. I ordered another ornament for my tank from a different company and that one came broken, so I’m happy this one came in tact.
