RYOBI311158001 String Trimmer Replacement Auxiliary Handle

Much needed replacement solution for my edger/trimmer. The older one has the rubber bearings totally worn out which made it quite hard to use. Thankfully the replacement was a smooth fit. Thank you and has been a life saver and at an excellent price!

Fit like a glove

My wife accidently knocked the trimmer off the wall and the handle broke off. I was miffed and expected it to be an expensive hassle to get a part for this older trimmer. But wonder of wonders, I found one for less than $20 that quickly arrived, had all the parts, and fit great. Easy install too. Woo-hoo!

I got my 40v Ryobi trimmer a couple weeks ago and was holding it by the handle and tapping it to release string and the handle broke right off!!! I was pissed... I found this on Amazon and thought I'll try it since I didn't want to return the trimmer since it does work great. This handle arrived and its 100% more sturdy and adjustable by angle to your preference. I did have the sliding around problem after tightening it but fixed it easily. After reading reviews I had the thought in the back of my mind. I took silicon stretchy tape. The kind you use to fix a pipe leak. Cheap product on amazon. The centerline of the cowl that wraps around your trimmer arm does have a small piece of rubber in it but its not enough to keep the handle from spinning on a graphite arm. Stretch the tape longways around the back of the black part that goes over your trimmer arm. I wrapped it several times and it'll adhere to itself. Then attach the handle normally and tighten but not too tightly. The silicon will fill up the little amount of space and keep it from sliding. What you can also do is loosen the handle and slide it laterally to a different position say if you want to use the trimmer upside down to edge or something. Then retighten it and now you have more versatility. Its much more solid and I doubt it'll break on ground tapping for line. Stars lost for making me come up with a fix. Rubber insert should be bigger or have a sleeve. Other options could be a small swatch of bike tire innertube or rubber/latex glove.. Don't use duct tape it will get yucky...

Very easy to install, adjustable angle, tall - easy on your back.

Good replacement for the OEM handle I was careless with. Original lasted 5 years, so hopefully this one will too.
