I seem to be on a Klean Kanteen buying spree, but there really is a perfect bottle for every member of the family. The 27 oz is the biggest bottle that will fit in my car's cup holders. It is a great size for on the go drinking, or sharing with my toddler. (It is the same diameter as her 12 oz)The 3.0 sport cover may not be officially leak proof, but I have yet to have more than a drip or two as the cold water warms up and expands. The water flows smoothly with no air bubbles. It gives you enough water at once to quench your thirst during a busy workout, yet is not overwhelming for a toddler. If you are used to a squeeze bottle or a straw, I can see where the learning curve is, but otherwise, this is like drinking from a regular screw top, without the fuss. It is not silent, but here is no whistle. Water will pour out when it is not closed properly.The 18/8 stainless does arrive with a metallic smell, but after two runs through the dishwasher it leaves no perceivable smell or taste on the contents. Switching contents isn't an issue either.Cons?Yes, there is condensation. Yes, the bottle is cold to hold. But I don't like to drink ice water anyway, so I won't complain about that.Worst con of all, no dust cover.Klean Kanteen, why don't all your 3.0 lids come with the dust cover? It makes the bottles easier to close, reduces the need to touch the silicone spout with dirty hands, AND holds the cover in place while you refill the bottle so you don't have to put it on the edge of a water fountain (or worse).UPDATE:I contacted Klean Kanteen. Their research shows that most people don't use / throw away the dust cover. They are sending me some for all my 3.0 bottles :) +1 for customer service!

After realizing how much plastic we are exposed to I knew I needed to try this!I read the feedback for this product and the competitors and over all liked what I read for the Klean Kanteen better. I am VERY satisfied with my purchase. It was shipped in a timely manner. I've been using it for a several weeks now and drink more water due to the convenience of having this. I take it daily to the gym and find the sport cap much easier to use then the original cap that you have to twist off. The neck is too big alone and I just kept spilling on myself at the gym...sports cap is a must have! It does still whistle but I can only hear that when it's QUIET. In the gym you would never hear it! That doesn't bother me. I prefer my water room temperature so all the comments about the container not keeping their water cold wasn't an issue for me either. I must tell you though that I had this in the car in 91 degree heat in the sun for maybe 25-30 minutes...I did put cold water from the refrigerator in it 2-3 hours earlier. When I got back in the HOT car I was surprised that the water was still cool!!! Not ice cold but definitely cool!! I thought surely it would be VERY warm. To my pleasant surprise it was a nice drink of water! It does sweat when you first put cold water in it but his also does not bother me. So far no leaks as some other reviewers said. I just need to remember to push the top back down when I get in the car after the gym!Water tastes clean. No weird metallic or chemical taste. Easy to clean.I am going to order the bigger size for home use.I HIGHLY recommend this!

I bought this and am returning to Amazon. Upon review, I see the 2nd photo for the product does show construction as single wall so I do have to put this on myself and my own ignorance. This bottle has 0 insulation. I filled it with ice water and my hand instantly became freezing cold, almost painfully so. If Klean Kanteen is going to choose to sell this product, I don't see how they choose to not flagrantly put out there that it's not an insulated product. It's not even in the product description: "Klean Kanteen Classic Stainless Steel Bottle with Sport Cap, Brushed Stainless - 27oz". I was an Yeti and RTIC man but I was lured to go Klean Kanteen upon learning of their environmental conscious and independent environmental certifications. I can't imagine Yeti, RTIC, or Hydro Flask selling something like this. Again, it's a single wall stainless steel water bottle. The single wall steel only transfers heat all the more quickly.

I love my Klean Kanteen! I purchased mine May of 2014, and I have used it exclusively every day since then. I am one to always have a water bottle with me at all times, and in the past, I've always used Nalgene bottles. I love Nalgene bottles, but they don't fit into the bottle cage on a bike, so I needed to find a replacement.My 27 oz with the Sport Cap has been amazing. It's been to both sides of America, it's been in cupholders for 10's of thousands of miles of road trips, it's done thousands of miles on my bike, and I can't even begin to tell you how many lectures, classes, hikes, climbs, and kayaking trips it's attended.I love that there isn't a bad taste or smell with it, unlike a lot of other bottles. It's also very easy to clean. It is incredibly durable, you can drop it, smash it, toss is, and aside from some paint chips and a few small dents, it's no worse for the wear. I personally love the patina that it acquires as the paint chips (which is admittedly quite easy to do), but if you want it to look more professional, I would suggest the unpainted bottle.I reccommend these bottles to all of my friends, and will continue to. 3 years down, many more to go!

The is the best stainless steel bottle yet. When i first received it there was a slight metallic taste and smell in the bottle, i put a 50-50 solution of white vinegar and hot water (careful the bottle is not insulated) and let it sit overnight, gave it a good shake in the morning and the smell was gone.I deducted a star because of the loop which presses against your nose when drinking AND because you need to pull the spout with your hands to open it (which isn't very hygienic) thats why i wish Klean Kanteen makes a straw top for this bottle i would be the first to purchase it.
