Nice product, but there are 2 versions
I first purchased this item in August 2017, and then again in October 2020. Tripp-Lite has sold at least 2 versions of the product with the same product name ECO550UPS, but with 2 different package styles. The same ASIN number, B001OQBMLA, was used on Amazon for both package styles.- The one I purchased in 2017 has UPC # 037332143884, and made in China, per the carton label. Besides the product name ECO550UPS, there is a secondary identifier BC7889. This unit has a case style that is not as tall, and is wider than the more recent one. This case style allowed for wider distribution of the outlets, and enabled easier access to the outlets (see my provided pic). Also note that it provides only 8 total outlets. Also, this style has no access panel to replace the battery, however, it may be accessed by removing 3 case screws and opening the case.- The one I purchased in 2020 has UPC # 037332211064, and made in Vietnam, per the carton label. Besides the product name ECO550UPS, there is a secondary identifier BC87FB. This unit has a case style that is taller, and is narrower than the older one. This case style allows for narrower distribution of the outlets, and makes access to the outlets more difficult. The main product image for this page shows the more recent product. Also note that it provides 10 total outlets (vs 8 for the previous version). This case style has an access panel to access the battery for replacement. The product includes a 3 year warranty, and I can report that the battery in the unit I purchased in Aug 2017, failed in Jan 2020 (just a little over 3 years). Failure was indicated by a one-beep alert that repeated every 15 minutes. Replacement battery cost (from a local battery vendor) was less than half the price of a new UPS, so it is well worth replacing the battery if you are even a little bit handy.

Excellent, cost-effective units + A response to another reviewer
I've bought a few of these in different sizes and capacities and I've been impressed by each one of them. They're pretty small for what they can do and work well for us, so Tripp-Lite has become a go-to brand for me after some experiences with a competitor's units (a certain other vendor, let's call them Pamerican Cower Aversion, has exceptionally good support but I've had more issues with them than I'd like to.).Another reviewer has called these "toys" and said that they power off if there's not a sufficient load on them when on battery. I cannot say that I've had that problem; if I unplug the UPS and only plug a kill-a-watt on it for a very low load, the kill-a-watt stays on. Perhaps this customer left something plugged into the surge side? :)Also, contrary to the this reviewer's statements, the load requirement for Eco mode is specified in the manual which both comes with the unit and can be viewed online at Tripp-Lite's website... and if you're not going to use Eco mode, you can turn it off or simply buy a UPS that lacks the feature.

EATON UPS devices are the best. Thanks.

They're to busy to take care of a customer
I bought this ups over a month ago and it messed up on day one. I plugged it in and the ups gave a big spark. I hoped I didn't mess something up in it. I called tech support and they said they would look into an alternate ups. I told them I may have blown out the warranty because I plugged in my devices first before plugging in the ups. The tech said it's ok it was an honest mistake. So a week goes by and no word into the replacement. I called back and the second tech said they have the second ups suggestion and it would be 5 to 6 days before I would get the email. I wasn't really looking for a replacement. They offered to replace it. They said they were really busy. I thought, really, there to busy to take care of a customer. well, it's been three weeks and no contact. So they can keep their new ups. If they are to busy then they don't need my business. I had bought a second ups from Tripp Lite and it messed up eco1000lcd. The utility went off line 3 times. So it is now on my backup PC. I now have an APC ups on the way. I will never buy Tripp Lite again. As an added note, the master outlet didn't work. I thought it was because of the spark. The batt+surge work fine. So I'm not sure if I actually messed the thing up. Still I won't buy Tripp Lite again.

It DOES Beep
I bought this bc the reviews said it doesn’t beep during power outage, but it does, and there’s no way to disable it. My power goes out pretty much every night for the whole night and this thing waking me up every night beeping was driving me insane so I stopped using it and will look elsewhere for my next one. Otherwise it works fine. I would have thought it would last a little longer for its price, size, and weight, but it usually lasts long enough for me to run to the shed and turn on my generator so my professional art printer doesn’t get interrupted when it’s in the middle of a print job, which is all I really need, so I’m satisfied.

It is working so far.
I just received this item because the delivery was delayed. I haven't had this long enough to make review. I will have to review it after my first power outage.

Tripp Lite
Because of power pulses (very short losses of power due to high winds and grid issues)I experienced some computer issues and in particular, a hard drive that became unusual due to a boot sector problem. Since I was really not looking for a UPS that could power me through a blackout, this little baby did the trick. It provides smooth, constant power even when the lights flicker and gives me time to do a powered shut down. I have been using it for over a month and so far no problems. Pros are that Windows 7 automatically senses it when the USB hookup is attached to my computer and knows that there is a battery backup and allows for native Windows power management. Cons are that the manual is almost non-existent, the on line software is cryptic and I never figured out how to install a "power down" application in case we loose power for an extended period. Time will tell how long the battery lasts and how much it will cost to replace it when it does. Overall, this unit performs the functions I bought it for and the price was only marginally more than a "fancy" surge protector.
